Yesterday at Phuket bus terminal.I found the malaysian woman with her child try to find the ticket to Hatyai city and KL...She said to me about her table's time to plan to go back home after finish their holiday in Phuket island....I help her find the ticket untill she get it....I think she will be in KL now and I want to say good luck cuase I was so hurry yesterday and Have no time to say good bye to them.......Anyway.....Goodbye and Good luck .............Cute malaysian mom and child......

Kampung Baru, with modern KL skyline as backdrop. This piece of land is just next to KLCC accross the river, and it has got astronomical land value. However, it was gazetted as a Malay Agricultural Settlement in 1900 by British colonial. So, it means that this piece of land cannot be developed into another city core like KLCC.

But under KL Structure Plan 2020 recently, Kampung Baru has been approved to be developed into another soaring KL city centres. :)

The City of Kuala Lumpur has only not more than 2 million people, but Greater KL has about 7 to 8 million people. The city is also relatively young as it was only officially founded in the year 1880 during the British colonial era.

Family, Fun & Entertainment at Genting Highlands (雲頂高原)

Genting Highlands is the world's highest theme park resort. It also has the world's fastest and Southeast Asia's longest cable car system. It is known as the 'Las Vegas of Malaysia' because it is home to Southeast Asia's first and largest casino to date. The resort formerly has the world's largest hotel (in a single complex) by number of rooms (now 2nd largest) and has Malaysia's no.1 entertainment venue called 'Arena of Stars' which recently hosted the MTV Asia Awards.

Marvelous modern buildings reach the sky here, and while the skyline is not exactly the densest, it does allow buildings to soar and stand out. Kuala Lumpur has 10 structures standing over 200 meters tall with three of them being in the 25 tallest buildings worldwide. Kuala Lumpur is also home to the tallest twin buildings, the Petronas Towers as well as the peaking, 420 meter Menara Kuala Lumpur Tower. Along with Singapore are said to be the frontier cities to boom from the Southeast Asian economic revolution.

I give it 10..I'm Malaysian but not prejudice and not simply giving the mark..
Nowaday, More new buildings had been built in Kuala Lumpur..
Very impressive!! It's really have a good skyline!!

KL is unique, spacious and most importantly not overpopulated like some cities in south east asia...where the gap between the super rich and the super poor just incredible

I like Mid Valley and KL Sentral but the buldings are quite close together...Im more of a spread out city kinda guy, soon enough they both gonna merge as they're not far from each other...dont wanna loose the charm of KL, space to breathe and green pockets of fresh air..

Klang Valley is an area in Malaysia comprising Kuala Lumpur and its suburbs, and adjoining cities and towns in the state of Selangor. An alternative reference to this would be Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan Area or Greater Kuala Lumpur. It is geographically delineated by Titiwangsa Mountains to the north and east and the Strait of Malacca to the west.

HK and Shanghai is just amazing!!! :nuts:

I'm a Malaysian and i've to agree that KL's CBD and most parts of city is SMALL, BORING, LACKING SOMETHING, and quite DIRTY sometimes, especially during the rainy season. Not sure about Bangkok, Manila and Jakarta as I've not been there.

There is no doubt that KL has now become one of Asia's emerging economic cities, for example more and more foreigners are coming to KL to buy properties or shopping or catching flights to other cities in Asia.

However, KL is becoming more "decentralise". To me, KL losses some commercial advantage when, for example, the world's big 4 accounting firms do not have national headquarters within KL CBD. Their highrise offices are in the suburbs. Many other multinationals are also in the suburbs. As such, I assume that the affluent people of KL do not necessary hangout in the CBD.

KL is still very less impressive in terms of buildings and architecture. Most of the buildings in KL are old and the interiors are not properly maintained. And to a certain extent, the pathways/landscaping around KL CBD is deteriorating due to frequent floods (haha) and construction sites all over. But I'm sure these are elements of a developing economy just like others.

KL is set to build another 100+ skyscrapers in the next decade

KL's CBD has not completely matured, compared to Singapore's Raffles Place or HK's Central/Wanchai. There are big gap between buildings containing carparks etc. Development land within the CBD is aplenty. Fortunately but boringly, the Petronas Towers dominate the skyline most times.

Suburban KL

Overall, KL lacks something vibrant and attractive to young tourists. Talking about transportation and pedestrian-walkways will give very bad impression of KL. In fact the best place to feel the best and most modern of KL is within the KLCC Park itself, unless you prefer to chill at the Zouk club.

Why many KL Skylines that always included The Petronas tower If you bring your skylines without that it is a quite a normal skyline for me 6.5/10

Since it is the tallest building in the city, it has no choice but petronas twin towers are seen in every photos.. You are right that KL has a normal skyline without the twin towers, but the fact is that the the towers are already there and they are the focal point of KL skyline.. KL without twin towers is like toronto without cn tower and that is just not right..

not right to deny the fact that the skyline is dominated by the towers..

what u mean not right to deny that the twin dominates KL skyline? well u cant deny that it's there and can be seen in almost all angles. KL is a big city considering its populations but the towers only occupies a smidgen of it's space. KL is not a planned nor a concentrated city therefore the buildings are not piled in one area. Kl compared to most cities also is a very green city with plenty of green lungs. KL might not be NYC or HK but definitely a great city with awesome skyline.

BECAUSE OF THE SMALL SKYLINE

Actually KL has a remarkably big skyline for a city with population of less than 2 million people. Certainly you cannot compare this with Bangkok's population of over 8 million people.
