View Full Version : ~ Apartments in Toronto ~
schmidt January 26th, 2005, 04:04 AM OK guys, I need your help, it doesn't demand too much effort.
I just need to know how much a 1-bedroom 30, 40sq metres apartment would cost (rental) in Toronto, not too far away from the subway if possible. I mean, for just a person.
And another question, is it possible for me (i'm in uni) to get a job in Toronto? I can speak and understand English pretty well and dunno, I don't wanna make 100,000 dollars a year hehehe. Just to make a living...
Mr Man January 26th, 2005, 04:11 AM $600-700 depending on the area. You could probably find ones for a little larger than 40 sq metres too.
Homer J. Simpson January 26th, 2005, 04:23 AM Boom, to pay for rent and education as a non-citizen it will cost you one hell of alot of money. Tuition for non-citizens usually cost 3-5 times what it would for a citizen.
schmidt January 26th, 2005, 04:33 AM I don't want education :D
Homer J. Simpson January 26th, 2005, 04:36 AM Sorry, I assumed that since you were in university that you would be furthering you education.
salvius January 26th, 2005, 04:48 AM ^ I believe he's going to university right now.
Anyways, you should be able to find a job, but you should really try to talk to an advisor about this--most of us here, I imagine, are pretty clueless about this.
schmidt January 26th, 2005, 05:38 AM The thing is that if I do go to some dunno, interchange companies they will make me pay like 1000 dollars just for their services, no plane ticket nor accomodations included!
tod24 January 26th, 2005, 05:41 AM To get a job you need either a temporary working visa or immigrant status which is hard to get.
I would exchange my passport for a brazilian one, I am fucking sick of the weather here.
schmidt January 26th, 2005, 05:44 AM I can get a German passport, would that help?
(I'm pretty sick of having to stay with windows closed at night cuz of the mosquitoes and staying with the air condition on during the day cuz of the heat, air conditioning here is ULTRA expensive.)
tod24 January 26th, 2005, 06:27 AM no, but mexican or american one would help.
"and staying with the air condition on during the day cuz of the heat"
you lucky bastard.
mckarisma January 26th, 2005, 07:16 AM tuition is actually only about double for foreigners coming to uni here. Many of my friends are from pakistan and India that I go to school with, and they all pay double what I do.
CHeers!
