That tower is gonna stick out like a sore thumb. The only tall things in that area are the Grand Harbour and Marina Del Rey condos, both of which don't come even close to that height.

Isn't Palace Pier and Palace point in Etobicoke, or is that still the old city of Toronto?

The Humber was the border between the borough and the old city.

Wow, that is one big complex. I would bet that it will run into some NIMBY problems.

The complex will include three more towers around similar heights, but I don't have renderings for them. :( Actually I do...

Yeah, that development's right by my house. That means they'd tear down the SNC Lavalin building currently standing on the site. There's already a sign from the city planning office in front of the building from the last 2 years or so. This is truly gonna stand out like a sore thumb.

There might be some cool retail opportunities at the base though?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that would happen. My area really doesn't have any good shops, the closest is Sherway Gardens some 12 km away...

I think it looks very nice. It seems to treat the street properly.

Nice podiums. Very glassy.

It doesn't treat the street properly, there's nothing glassy over there except for the building currently standing on the site.:D And, the tallest buildings around are only 35 floors high.

Looking at the older siteplan, it does meet the street with retail. 35-storeys was the original height but it has somehow morped into 45. Maybe Etobicoke's committee of adjustments, or the height previously did not include the podium which is the tactic Waterpark City pulled.

I doubt anything will happen, that sign's been there for 2 years and no sales office has opened since. I haven't even heard news of this project until now.

It's still being fought at the city I believe. It will come soon enough.

Cool, this project has suddenly grown on me. I'm eager that it will be built, though nimbies will probably destroy it.
