8 January 2010 (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=49793377&postcount=158) - 21 floors above the 3rd mechanical level;
29 January 2010 (http://i47.tinypic.com/mlp1jt.jpg) - the 22nd floor above the mechanical level is being constructed.

The AMEinfo.com website (http://www.ameinfo.com/176997.html) has a blurb from Tiger Properties dated 25 November 2008 stating construction had reached the 64th of a total of 77 floors. Imre's pic posted on 3 December 2008 (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=28849926&postcount=197) shows the height as 3rd mechanical level + 12.

Based on 77 levels and mechanical + 12 = 64, then mechanical + 22 should mean it's reached the 74th level with three more to go.

NB.. nowhere can an updated render of this tower be found.
Here's an oldie: Night render (http://www.tigergroup.net/images/marina-pinnacle1.jpg). It shows the completed tower as having 16 floors + roof above the 3rd mechanical level.

The Tiger Group website (http://www.tigergroup.net/marina-pinnacle.aspx) has the height at 280 metres being 4 Basements + G + 4 Parking + Health Club + 3 Service Floors + 64 Residential Floors. That's 73 floors including the ground level with no mention of roof top mechanicals and/or roof feature.

So instead of 260m|66 fl maybe the thread title should be 280m|73 fl.

Good thoughts! After all, it's 77 floors (AMEinfo.com story of 11/2008) vs. 73 floors (Tiger Group website). Maybe the annoucement of 64th floor referred to the at the time higher core? The data given by the contractor of altogether 280m / 73fl sounds more recent and reasonable to me. So the roof should follow now, let's see. No matter if it gets even taller, I agree we should indeed change the outdated thread title.

Mag 218 would've been 275 meters with planned spires. With new spireless crown, Mag 218 should be around 240-245 meters only.

The original renders had a spire, and if this really gets added, Marina Pinnacle will definatelly end at +270 meters.

The english wikipedia Marina Pinnacle article actually doesn't cite any references and has only emporis as external link, so I wouldn't bet my mother on the 280 meters, though this is of course a possible figure.

But as for the roof: instead of moving on, M'Pinnacle seems to marvel at Marina 101 next door shooting up... the latter has become about 40 meters taller than Marina Pinnacle in only 2 months! :nuts:

First part of the crown (or top level) still not completelly finished, and according to the renders, the vertical element to the left with spire should follow at last...

Still lots of cladding work to do on the side facing Marina 101, whereas Marina Pinnacle looks almost complete from the other direction (nice family portrait with "mummy" The Torch and "daddy" Marina 101 btw. ;)). The location of the anticipated spire is hidden, but there's a building maintenance unit on top now.

Once again the Marina supertalls steal the show, but here Marina Pinnacle features the long anticipated top.
There's a roof skeleton and even the tiny spire, with only a small crane left.
So I'd conclude: topped-out! :cheers:

Here a closer picture of Marina Pinnacle - cladding is almost done, I'm waiting for the complete unveiling like partially to the right.
No idea why they've scaffolded what I suppose to be the building's eponym...
or am I wrong and there's no pinnacle on top (yet)?

There's an article on gulfnews.com from 19 Dec 2010 (http://gulfnews.com/business/construction/tiger-ready-to-hand-over-new-marina-pinnacle-tower-to-owners-1.732268), with Taha Mohammad, CEO of Tiger Properties, announcing:

"Tiger ready to hand over new Marina Pinnacle Tower to owners"

But most of the tower's future residents on SSC aren't convinced and some call this a big lie in the Marina Pinnacle thread of the Dubai section (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=126078&page=67). On 6th of December, they've received an invitation letter to visit their apartment in the period between 1st(!) and 20th of December, and obviously there are many complaints about the quality.:no:

I'm seeing this in the Torch thread too. It seems a lot of people are disappointed about the Dubai Marina in general.

Seen from the outside, Marina Pinnacle draws near completion.
The tiny spire is up, and I think we could change the thread title to T/O.

Those podiums just look awful to me. Is it me or are there just a few windows in there? It's gonna be way to dark and uninviting in those lobby's.

Don't worry. Nobody lives in these buildings. They are just for show. :lol:

Here's the MP top, perhaps with the smallest highrise spire in town.;)
Still some facade elements are missing right above the top floor, I think.
