if MRT tunnel is right underneath ORQ, who owns the plot of ORQ then? or is land title in Singapore restricted to anything on grade and above only?
btw, is there still an ORQ construction thread active?

The owners of ORQ own the plot of land ORQ sits on.

As for the subterranean space taken by up by MRT tunnels, they would usually be owned by the State, and underground station boxes are owned by the Land Transport Authority (a government statutory board).

Private developers are still able to own subterranean spaces, for basements and underground spaces. Ownership doesnt have to be limited to at-grade and above only.

I am delighted that it will not be green like its 2 neighbours.

It is a little hard to judge it based on the pics so far, I am sure it will look real stunning when the sun shines on it. And I hope it will be nicely lit up at night like in the renderings

no.

it will be as tall (one of the two towers) as the blue one just next to it (approx 245m). the three tallest ones you can see, are all the same hight, and will stay tallest unless the gov changes the hight limit (currently approx 280.2 meters).

The piling works and digging out the base took about 1 year (which was faster than expected because the 1 Raffles Quay development took about 1.5years to start rising).

One reason could be the reclaimed land that these new projects sit on, I suppose having carparks above-ground help speed up the rising process though

^^ Cool pic Raffles :okay:

Flanked by 1 Marina Boulevard (NTUC Building) & the 1 Raffles Quay project on one side & Marina Bay Financial Centre scrapers on the other side, this area is becoming a beautiful "Sea of Green", although Marina Bay's cladding is yet to be seen. If we include the beautiful aqua-coloured water of The Harbour, then it literally becomes that "Sea of Green" :)

Green just happens to be my favourite clolour, so I appreciate all the differing shades of the green-coloured cladding overall.

Thanks :okay:

The afternoon sun hits at the non-bay view units on both towers.

Specially taken for Shctaw - the low floor non-bay view units, 0x-xx, Tower 1 ....
0x-07 will be better as it's further from the car park due to the curvature nature of the car park design..., i.e. 0x-11, 0x-10 will be very closer to the car park. Also, the higher the unit, the further the distance to the car park.

The superstructure is progressing gradually, but the cladding from the front angle has slowed down. However, I believe they are cladding the rear, which has a different facade.

It should reach full height end of the year or at least sometime early next year, I'm guessing.

cliff's picture is really beautiful as usual, but does anyone else think ntuc building looks like some daring design - from the 60s?

why dont we get stuff like this

it's a mixed use development in the siberian town of khanty mansiysk - only 60,000 people! tampines could easily have one right?

Almost. For Marina Bay Tower (the taller one), few more floors to go. Also the "pinnacle" of the 'sail' is yet to be built. I have no idea what's in that pinnacle tho :)

I like the photos, especially the first one which really captures one of the essences of citylife and cities in general.

Somewhat unusual shape but its ok, the location suits it, the building will be clearly visible as its not surrounded by other skyscrapers. And it will be a good addition for the F1 race in Singapore.
