I think it was granit that built it (is building it? ),but I think it was Kiev-Chop?, I'm not familiar with Ukrainian road network, so I don't know if thats the same road or not :dunno:
I remember there was talk of follow up contracts, maybe ukrainians here can tell us what parts are planned for construction.

Don't know, they have been reparing/reconstracting and blablabla for so many years that you don't even know who and what company has been involved in it...right now its UkrAutoDor's job(УкрАвтоДор) to fix the roads.

We need somebody from the West to show us how to made good Euro Roads because those pics are only half way there! although thanks to all you guys for not saying that its ugly or dirty and believing in us that we can still made something nice in the future.:cheers:

^^ Why would it be ugly or dirty? I don't like bus stops on motorways though. It would be ok though if they made long decelerating and accelerating lanes. The bus stop on the pic looks quite dangerous. I didn't know they were building new expressways in Crimea.

lol:lol:..actually they do, im not sure about the speeds on those new ones(on pics) but usually it's(the lane closest to the side is limited for slow 70 km/h and the all others are up and higher.) but if looking at it this way, NO ONE gives a shit what speed they are making on which lane...its just that when I learned driving in Ukraine, my driving instractor though me about those "accelerating/decelerating lanes" but after you get your Driver Licence you totally forget what he just told you, since you are now freeee!!:lol::nuts:

The Slovenian government adopted today a resolution about introducing motorway sticker for Slovenian motorways and expressways. We'll start using it on the 1st July 2008. They will only be used by cars and motor bikes, whereas trucks will continue to be charged at toll booths.

There will only be two types of stickers:
- yearly/annual (1.1.-31.12), which will cost 55 € for cars and 27.5 € for motor bikes
- half-yearly (half year from the date of purchase), which will cost 35 €

Toll booths won't be demolished yet.

All vehicles under 3.5 t will need sticker for all Slovenian motorways and expressways, probably even 2-laned ones (roads reserved for motor vehicles). I wouldn't make such a fuss, if I went to Slovenia for 5 days (unless, if I stayed at one place), b/c you can drive quite many motorways in this time. The main problem are transit drives (even including return journeys). By current prices (0.046 € per km), you'd have to drive at least 761 km on motorways for 35 € (and 1,196 km for 55 €). :ohno:

A1 highway
The A1 motorway in Poland is a planned motorway which, when completed, will run from north to south through central Poland, from Gdańsk on the Baltic Sea through Łódź and the Upper Silesian Industry Area to the Polish-Czech border in Gorzyczki (Wodzisław County) /Věřňovice (Karviná District), where it will connect with the Czech motorway D1. The highway will be a part of the European route E75.

About 42.5 km of the motorway has been completed to this day.

Out of the planned total length of 610 km, 252 km are now completed.
150 km Nowy Tomyśl-Poznań-Września-Konin) has been fully open since 2004.
An additional 100 km section from Konin to Stryków near Łódź was opened on July 26, 2006.
Completion occurring around 2014.

Will run from west to east through southern Poland, from the Polish-German border in Zgorzelec (connecting to the German A4 autobahn), through Wrocław, Katowice, Kraków, Tarnów, and Rzeszów to the Polish-Ukrainian border in Korczowa.
At present about 380 km of the highway have been completed, out of the planned total length of 670 km. Completion occurring around 2012.

will run from the Polish/German border at Olszyna/Bademeusel (connecting to the German A15 autobahn)

he A6 highway in Poland is a short (21 km) motorway that starts at the Polish/German border at Kołbaskowo/Pomellen (connecting to the German A11 autobahn), forms a southern bypass of the Szczecin metropolitan area, and terminates to the east of that city where it becomes the S3/S6 express road to Świnoujście. Another 8 km of the S3/S6 road will be redesignated as A6, once improvement work is carried out.

BTW i dont know if i read it here or somewhere else but does anyone have any info about a highway (dont know the name) going right around the black sea?? Is it a distant dream or are they actually planing to build it??

1990 was only 250-260km ( poor condition,Large stretches of this motorway were initially built as a Reichsautobahn by Nazi Germany in the 1930s.- )
is planned to be 2012- 1600-1700km
The total length of the motorway is planned to be 2004 km.

Expressways-
1990 was 170-180km
now is 317 km
is planned to be 2012 2418km
2009 975 km, 2010 r. – 612 km, w 2011 r. – 438 km, 2012 r. – 157 km.

The total length of the Expressways is planned to be 5200km.

in romania there are plans for the constanta bypass (ovidiu-agigea) as motorway and further south from agigea to vama veche as expressway. in bulgaria i think there are plans for varna-burgas.
in romania it isn't possible to go north of constanta beacause the construction sites would destroy the danube delta

There aren't any plans for this highway. Just for the sections beforementioned. I wanted to say in the previous post that the only route to ukraine from romania (in that area) is by braila-galati area beacause. Through the danube delta there is no way the highway to be build

Does anybody have any information about the future Bucharest-Craiova motorway? Links, pictures, news etc...

AFAIK, there will be no Bucharest-Craiova highway until 2013. However, the are plans to build an express way for that route by that time.

I meant the FUTURE Bucharest-Craiova motorway....

Are there any plans about Buch.-Craiova motorway at all?
Or instead of Buch-Craiova motorway will it be built Ploiesti - Craiova expressway?

I think currently the express way has more certitude than the highway. If there are some thoughts on a future highway, it won't be any project laid down before 2013, since the current highway programme is until 2013 and it doesn't include a highway in that section, but an express way. Ford has required a highway, but I doubt any decision will be made before 2013.

A little update about Liulin Motorway's construction progress :cheers:

Motorway Lyulin is a segment of Euro-corridor 4 in its part Vidin – Sofia – Kulata and will connect the Sofia circle road with the villages Malo Bouchino, Golyamo Bouchino and road junction Daskalovo.
Its length will be 19 km and will include three tunnels with total length of nearly 1,29 km, approximately 6 km of viaducts, three road junctions and 691 m strengthening walls. The highway will be with 2 bands for movement in one direction with projected speed of 100-110 km/h. Part of the provided financing (from total 148,45 million euros) in the amount of 111.38 million euros are gratuitous financing upon ISPA, the rest of 25 % are co-financing from the republican budget. Reflecting the mountain terrain considerable amount of constructions are included in the scope of the developed project: three tunnels following the open mode with total length of 1260 m; 26 bridges and viaducts with total length of 6000 m; 3 road junctions and strengthening walls with total length of 2762 m. The Lyulin highway construction is the most expensive road construction in Bulgaria. The reason of the high price are the many technical equipment on the trace – tunnels, bridges, road junctions, strengthening walls and noise reducing fences.

The highway construction should be completed in term by 2009.

Why isn't Lyulin a part of Struma?

The biggest tunnel of Egnatia was inaugurated some days ago. Egnatia has 74 double tunnels, totally 50 km-100 if you double it for both directions- or 7% of the total lengh, and the particular it's a 5km tunnel in Epirus. Soon it will be beaten by a 9km tunnel in Tembi (Nat. Highway Athens-Thessaloniki).

I have a question. I'll be traveling by Egnatia in a couple of weeks. What's the actual progress between Grevena and Thessaloniki? I'll stay in Kalambaka. Then I plan to go to Grevena, since it's there, where Egnatia is open, and head for Thessaloniki. How about the section between Grevena and Metsovo? And where is this tunnel? I guess it is towards Ioanina.

Nice motorways and expressways, Poles, but c'mon... build them faster, don't be lame like we are.:lol:Well, it's not about "build them faster". Since we have money to build all those A1, A2 etc. And money is not a problem any more...We have two different problems. 1st is bureaucracy, and 2nd and the most important problem is polish law and silly problems with bidding...For example: Couple weeks ago, in Wrocław I think, there was a bid on some motorway and it was canceled because of some silly spelling mistake, and now they will pay 250 mln € more for this motorway. Nice?! :puke:

In Romania this usually happens beacuse of coruption and of stupidity. And sometimes a combination of the both.

Concentrate on Egnatia. The green part is U/C while the bold yellow is already constructed. From what I can understand the Grevena-Thessaloniki part is ready while the Grevena-Metsovo wasn't ready till January.
