Thanks. There was a time when I would hike Arugot all night on Thursdays and leave a little after sunrise. The walls of the canyons glow a sublte purple in moonlight. It is a wonderful place to sit quietly and think. Night time is best for that when no other people are around. I never took pictures though. Thanks again.

The entire area is filled with zimmers (the german word for rooms), located mostly in the kibutzes. Quite romantic and blends wonderfully in the environment.

Its good that over 30 percent is now protected nature reserves!!
we should at leat make it 50 percent.

Israel has 3 climate belts in one small area, a unique feature of nowhere else in the world. the mixing point between dry sub saharan climate and mediterrenean
moderate climate and the arava climate.

Also we have 1500 species of animals and flowers that are unique to Israel, we better start seeing that they dont disappear!

Shows that,contrary to what many people think there's something more than desert in Israel!

israel also has 2000 unique plants and seeds, now we are forming a seed bank, ebcause israel's climate is the southernmost region for most cropws like wild barley etc, it is now storing the world's future in reproducing crops if they become extinct.

we have in our tiny territory over 2000 unique wild specimens, just for a comparison: the entire huge china has 5000...

some views are suprise for me... But all of them are wonderful pictures... :okay:

the mt. Carmel caves are one of the most importent sites in the world for prehistoric humans eviedance.

Israel just has very ancient history also from prehistoric time, as it was the land route of the first humans migrated from Africa to Asia to Europe and to the Americas (humans migrated from Siberia via the bering sea to north and than south America).

for prehistoric carmel caves, probably some of the most important ever found:

Prehistoric caves in the southern cliff of wadi Mearot (nahal mearot, "caves' spring"), western Carmel.
This area is one of the oldest prehistoric sites out of Africa - million years old.
