My favorite in Atlanta. I was mesmerized by this building. I have to give it a 10, just because it's so beautiful...

Here are some of the pics I took of Promenade II:

7 The enormous step design make this building look shorter than it really is... and I would prefer a more consistant facade. Spire looks cheap. But it's an ok building.

Nice building but it is too dark which makes the detailing allmost invisible. 7.5 though

CTroyMathis

Details are certainly lost. Also, the building looks ridiculously and unproportionately fat thanks to the otherwise nice setbacks. It tapers off too soon at the apex.

noo...I really want to vote a good mark today, but once again...no way this one gets a high mark. the color scheme is allrite..but I smell the architect's idea of making a interesting building that will appeal to most people. and it seems to be that I'm not part of ''most people''. 5.0

Boy, somebody surely got carried away here! A bit much of everything, I'd say. The pattern of the striping strikes me as somehow "wrong."

On the other hand, I constantly bitch about boring boxes!

So I'll give it a 7.

I think it's the worst of Atlanta's 200 m plus buildings. . .except for that boring BellSouth building. 6/10.

8/10 - The set backs, horizontal and vertical, make the shape livlier; the glass facade looks like it can dance with the light, and there's good contrast between stone and glass. There's also some good detailing at the tops of the set backs, and the set backs flow nicely up to the spire - much more interesting than a flat roof.

BUT - it's chunky, the stone spandrels don't help the height, and maybe the pyramid could be a bit steeper...

All in all, though, not bad...

the setbacks and facade designs are quite good. but i think the architect went overboard with the building's width, so it doesn't really look like a 200m+ building. it would've definitely been an awesome building if it's more slender. also, they should've sticked with postmodern design elements all the way to the spire instead of throwing in a gothic look.

One of Atlanta's PoMo gems, and one of my personal favorites in the city. However, I'm not too fond of the above ground parking garage, or the way building's diagonal position to the grid makes the north plaza cold and windy. I would have personally juxtaposed the tower and garage, meaning that pedestrians could have better access to the MARTA station across the street. (I'm sure owners of the historic house next door would have raised hell at that option though) The poor access to 14th street for pedestrians is also confounding. I guess what I'm saying is that it's a great looking tower with shit siting.
