I will try to find that again this year. superchan7 February 1st, 2005, 03:58 AM I saw it on Suprnova.org, which is now defunct as a BT site. vincent February 1st, 2005, 03:16 PM yea, that's where i got that last year. Not sure if the same guy will upload it this year. hkskyline February 6th, 2005, 10:10 PM Yes, I found last year's CNY fireworks on a BT site as well - I think you gave me the link, vincent :) Rooftop pyrotechnic displays to enhance "A Symphony of Lights" during Chinese New Year To celebrate the Chinese New Year, "A Symphony of Lights" will again be enhanced with rooftop pyrotechnics from February 11 to 15. The pyrotechnic displays for these five nights are sponsored by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and will feature a wide range of colourful patterns to highlight the festive glamour. In addition, participating buildings including the Bank of China Tower, Hopewell Centre and Sun Hung Kai Centre will start showcasing their newly enhanced lighting effects over Chinese New Year to make the show even more spectacular. The show starts at 8pm and the broadcasting arrangement along the Avenue of Stars is as follows: February 11 (Fri) English February 12 (Sat) Putonghua February 13 (Sun) Cantonese February 14 (Mon) English February 15 (Tue) Putonghua Spectators may also listen to the soundtrack via the radio by tuning in to FM 103.4 MHz (English), FM 106.8 MHz (Cantonese) or FM 107.9 MHz (Putonghua); or via their mobile phones by dialing 35-665-665 (English) or 35-665-668 (Putonghua). For more information on "A Symphony of Lights", please call the Tourism Commission at 2810 2555 or 2810 2770 during office hours or visit the website: http://www.tourism.gov.hk/symphony. vincent February 8th, 2005, 03:08 AM i remember the link didn't work after couple of days, and i hosted the file in my computer. So we need to find that file quick this year before it disappear. superchan7 February 8th, 2005, 03:51 AM Anyone with access to such a recording...keep us posted! I know we all would appreciate it. HKT February 11th, 2005, 12:53 AM I found two clips of the Chinese New Year Fireworks 2005 on a BT site (one avi and one mpg), don't know if they are the same because I'm still downloading at the time I post this message. I guess I should be quick before all the seeds are gone. Enjoy~ http://hkt17.sinaman.com/2005.torrent http://hkt17.sinaman.com/TVB.torrent Skybean February 11th, 2005, 04:49 AM I can't get the 2005 one but the TVB one is awesome! Thanks alot HKT!! superchan7 February 11th, 2005, 05:53 PM I can't get either of them. It says file name formatting error (maybe due to the Chinese chars.?). Which BT client are you guys using? One of the errors: "2005萬事勝意煙花大匯演.mpg" : IO Error [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'C:\\Documents and Settings\\Username\\Desktop\\2005?????????.mpg' Skybean February 11th, 2005, 09:12 PM I used bittorrent. I still can't get the 2005 one. superchan7 February 11th, 2005, 09:34 PM I can't get either of them...even the TVB one gives me an error! NOOOOOOOOOOO.....I NEED THAT VIDEO HELLLPPPPPPP :bash: Skybean February 11th, 2005, 09:39 PM I tried to DL the TVB one again to test it out and again no problem. Click link, bittorrent will prompt for saving the file in a folder and then it starts downloading. If you have bittorrent maybe you have a bug in the program. Maybe try to download bittorrent again? P.S. The quality of the video is outstanding-- like watching on television. hkskyline February 11th, 2005, 09:48 PM I'm getting "Problem connecting to tracker" and it's still not downloading. I've tried several BT clients already. vincent February 12th, 2005, 06:55 AM guys, i used BitComet w/o any problems, download it from here http://www.bitcomet.com/doc/download.htm vincent February 12th, 2005, 08:40 AM HKT, i am curious to know where did you find those BT links. Like which website. vincent February 12th, 2005, 09:02 AM and i suggest u guys to change the file name when it pop up the destination save window. vincent February 12th, 2005, 09:08 AM i have made two computers (in different location) to be the seeds for these two files. So you guys can DL it faster. InitialD18 February 12th, 2005, 10:39 AM vincent i can't use BT here can you send me or put on ftp for me ... san q superchan7 February 12th, 2005, 11:25 AM Thanks a lot, vincent! I'm downloading now. vincent February 12th, 2005, 03:46 PM i dont think i can do ftp anymore coz the internet provider that i have now doesn't really have a IP for some reason (probably coz i split the service with my roommates using routers or something). I tried many times to do ftp hosting before with no success, except when i was still living on campus a year ago. steve, just download the bitcomet, easy to use, easy to install. vincent February 12th, 2005, 08:53 PM i am wondering if the people at the Ave of Stars could hear the firework background music? does the company that organize the firework put speakers around the waterfront in both side of the harbour?? superchan7 February 12th, 2005, 10:22 PM The music matches very well, it shouldn't have been aired only on the TV. They probably have done something with the music on-site. Excellent show; this one was a lot more colourful and varied than the one from last year, although last year's ending was a bit more intense. The video quality is much higher this time, too. vincent February 12th, 2005, 10:48 PM from what i read in newspaper, it sounds like the music was being broadcasted live in some places. Like they interviewed some tourist, and some say the chinese music was interesting. the video quality of the CNY firework from last year is about the same as this one. I still got the file. Yea, the ending of last year was slightly more intense last year (firework in midium height air only). But we got 4 bardges this year (more firework surface area), and we got both mid height and high height firework this time. HKT February 13th, 2005, 06:45 AM i am wondering if the people at the Ave of Stars could hear the firework background music? does the company that organize the firework put speakers around the waterfront in both side of the harbour?? Every lamp post is equipped with speakers. They are being used to play classical music and jazz during the day and night. HKT February 13th, 2005, 06:49 AM HKT, i am curious to know where did you find those BT links. Like which website. I got it from bt.newsgroups.com.hk vincent February 14th, 2005, 03:12 AM i know the lamp post got speaker for the symphony of light. But i am not sure if they would play the music for the CNY firework. HKT, the bt.newsgroups.com.hk doesn't seem to work. I tried adding "http://" and "http://www." in the front. But still doesn't work. HKT February 14th, 2005, 09:23 AM Vincent: It's a newsgroup, so it starts with news:// which is news://bt.newsgroups.com.hk. However, they ban all non-HK IP so people from overseas won't be able to browse all the newsgroups except bt.admin. superchan7: You are from San Jose?... superchan7 February 14th, 2005, 10:53 AM Sure, why not? ;P I'm currently studying in San Diego, though. vincent February 15th, 2005, 07:35 AM too bad oversea people can't access, do they have the video for the night parade in hk btw?? (not sure if it is worth it to download?) |
