The gallery in philly isn't good. King of Prussia, Plymouth Landing and Franklin Mills are all better in that area. There's a decent one I think in Cherry Hill too. I think Arundel Mills and Dulles Town Center are two malls that are going to become really good. Tysons I&II, The Mall at Short Hills, and Roosevelt Field are my favorite three malls on the east. The Shops at Columbus Circle is nice, and it's stores are great quality but I don't think it's as good a shopping destination as some of the other places. It's up there though.

Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester.

Hahahahaha, just kidding of course.

Tyson's Corner Center is going through yet another expansion. This time with Barnes and Noble, Z Gallerie, a 16 screen AMC movie complex with stadium seating, 5 full service restaurants including Masaharu Morimoto's (famous for his Iron Chef cooking show on the Food network) 'Pauli Moto's Asian Bistro', Guess and 30 more stores. WOW!!

King of Prussia Mall, KoP, PA

I believe that it may be the largest mall on the east coast, second only to the Mall of America in Minneapolis. Would need to confirm that.

I knew Carousel Center in Syracuse was the best mall in Upstate NY, but I didn't think it could rank among the best in the Northeast.

I heard Palisades Mall in downstate is really nice.

I'm not a fan of malls, but they are actually building condos at the Natick mall in suburban Boston for those who want to actually live there.

I never been to any mall outside of Massachusetts so i'm going to say Natick Mall or Cambridgeside Galleria.

Natick Mall is large(at least large enough to get me lost the first time) and there is already expansion plans on making condomniums and restaurants. It is two stories high.

And CambridgeSide Galleria because it is more closer to my house and although not as long as Natick Mall, it makes up for it with its three floors. You can even ride a ferry there to Charles River from there and there is a huge fountain there.

Crossgates Mall in Guilderland and Carousel Center in Syracuse are probably the best in upstate NY, but probably not in the Northeast.

I can't comment on the malls I haven't been to, but I can say that Tysons is pretty nice. I think it's a lot classier than Arundel Mills, just because in general it's easier for the rich people from DC to access it. The area around Tyson's has some pretty chic stuff too. If I'm not mistaken there's a Cartier right next to Colvin Run? No, it's a Tiffany's. (For the non locals: Colvin Run is an upscale restaraunt owned by Bob Kinkead, who runs Kinkead's in Washington, which is considered one of the city's finest)

Anyways, list of stores in Tysons Corner Center (http://www.shoptysons.com/searchstore/index.cfm). And here's the list of stores in Tysons Galleria (http://www.tysonsgalleria.com/html/storedirectory.asp). There's also a Ritz-Carleton in one of them, and a Hilton near by if I'm not mistaken.

I like Tysons. Usually I hate shopping malls because all they do is represent the sprawl and expansion I hate, but this one isn't so bad. It's not too far from the city and at least it's got some class.

WILLOW GROVE PARK is one of the Philadelphia area’s premier shopping centers. Located 12 miles from Center City Philadelphia in Eastern Montgomery County and closely bordering Bucks and Philadelphia Counties, the center caters to an upscale customer as well as upper middle income residents with a strong fashion orientation. Retailers such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, bebe, Coach, Guess, J. Crew, Williams-Sonoma,Harry & David, Godiva Chocolatier, Starbucks Coffee and prototype stores for Express, Limited, and Victoria’s Secret thrive in the center’s unique three level Victorian environment which is a tribute to its namesake - a turn of the 19th century amusement park. A grand Carousel, situated in a dramatic glass enclosed mall entrance reinforces the mall as a destination for the entire family. The mall opened in 1982 and underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2001, adding a new Macy’s store. Bloomingdales, Sears, and Strawbridges also anchor.

King of Prussia is probably the best mall I have ever been to, although We have the Lehigh Valley Mall in Allentown (kind of a hidden secret) which is actually pretty big. The Palmer Park mall near easton usualy suits me just fine..I dont care for really large malls.

An aerial of the Court at King of Prussia and The Plaza at King of Prussia. It is one of the largest malls on the East Coast and in the U.S. Over 365 stores, 8 major department stores.

The Gallery is going downhill. Willow Grove needs a movie theater.

The Gallery serves its purpose. It's not glitzified and doesn't have a lot of high-end stores because the bulk of The Gallery's clientele don't have large incomes.

I think Roosevelt Field on Long Island is nice. It sure is huge.

I'm not a big fan of malls, though.

The DC area has great malls, really the only malls I would compare to anything on the West Coast. I don't really consider the Washington area to be the NE though. It's in the South. It's below the Mason Dixon line and the cities and urban structure down there is not like the NE at all. It's very suburban and car oriented making it a great place for great malls like Tyson's Corner and Mazza Galerie.

I live in Philly now and King of Prussia seems to be an older version of Tyson's Corner. The architecture is identical but it looks like it's been added on to quite a bit. You'll get lost but you'll end up seeing only half the stores you want - not because it's so big, but because you'll end up going and circles and seeing the same stores over and over again. It's got all the upscale stores you could want though. I just wish there was an upscale mall closer to the city, at least something accessable to the subway or rail lines.
