Legazpi Restaurant is a legacy. I am not sure but It could have started in the forties. It's original location was beside Saty's Department Store. When I left Legazpi in the early seventies, Wa Foo Chan was maybe not even conceived yet by the owners. I don't know, but maybe sa foo chan started maybe in the late seventies or early eighties.

Wala. For me, wala na. Sabi ko nga, not even Mt. Fuji comes close.

As in ang ganda ganda ng Mayon :) When I went to Albay and our guide led us to the ruins, nakatitig lang ako sa kanya... as in I have never seen such beauty and grandeur ! :)

Bumili rin ako ng mga bags made of water lilies... :) At maraming daing na isda.

I also had a taste of lubi-lubi , ginataang tulingan, at pili nuts.

I have walk the streets of Ligao, Legazpi, Polangui, Daraga and Tobaco.

In all honesty, napakaganda ng province nyo :) :)

As in ang ganda ganda ng Mayon :) When I went to Albay and our guide led us to the ruins, nakatitig lang ako sa kanya... as in I have never seen such beauty and grandeur ! :)

Bumili rin ako ng mga bags made of water lilies... :) At maraming daing na isda.

I also had a taste of lubi-lubi , ginataang tulingan, at pili nuts.

I have walk the streets of Ligao, Legazpi, Polangui, Daraga and Tobaco.

In all honesty, napakaganda ng province nyo :) :)

This is a nice move for Ninong's! Mas okay to kaysa sa bar lang. This area in Old Albay is very strategic.

3. Any updates about the International airport in Daraga? Excited na kaming mga soon to be tourism proffesionals para jan :)

Here's the summary:

PureGold as a Pure Retail Play on Domestic Demand and as a Risk Aversion/Recession-Proof Stock to Hold for Mid-term Portfolios

Domestic Supermarkets/Retailers (Consumer Staples), in general continue to be a very reliable stock in any type of market. Consumer staples obviously lag most market rallies that occur based on strong economic data, as in some ways, these stocks are considered “safe haven”, boring and traditional businesses when it’s in a mature stage. However, I would disagree to say that PGOLD’s in a mature stage. In fact, it’s in an expansion stage with brighter potential in the next 4 years, and starting to invest in a company that can ultimately be a cash cow giving dividends in the future is a compelling argument to hold it.
A mom and pop investor right now in US funds will most likely have WMT shares in their portfolio to weather recessions, just as how the global market perceives Procter and Gamble, Colgate Palmolive and the likes. Which is why, when I read a report arguing that since Puregold hasn’t given any dividends, and still at its first year of listing (no trading history), that the stock deserves a discount of 15% with SMPH, I didn’t exactly agree with it.
I’ll give a check mark on EPS Growth for Pgold. Guidance from the management is to increase from its current 100th store to another 100 stores by 2015 (or 25 stores/yr starting 2012).
To me, Expansion of Stores = higher revenues and assuming that the management’s expenses will grow at the same rate of the revenues, the earnings in theory should increase just as it has increased the past three years- whopping more than 100%.
Uses of Cash:
According to the company’ 3Q report and corporate filings, the company’s current assets amount to Php4.255 Bil last Sept 30,2011. Cash decreased from Php1,575 Bil to Php263 Mil mainly to finance the company’s aggressive expansion all over the Philippines. From 2011 to 2013, the company’s grocery chain will expand its store network in Davao, Rizal, Cavite, Bataan, Pangasinan, Baguio City, Ilocos Norte, Caloocan, Bulacan, Camarines Sur, Laguna, Quezon City, Legaspi City, Iloilo City, Leyte, Cebu City, Tarlac City, La Union and Albay.
It is notable that the company is able to finance most of its store expansion from its operating cash flows as well as a fair amount of leverage financing from Metro Bank (Php 1.636 Bil) , BDO (Php875 Mil) and China Bank (Php202 Mil) for a total amount of Php2,712 Mil or 26% of total assets in 2011.

On what I researched: It's negative based on the report given by Ayala. Megaworld is still on talks. But then, I prefer SM over Ayala. Maray pa ang SM ta madigdi talaga sa Legazpi, Ayala is a hallucination (for anyone who knows the real deal!)

I've seen a huged statue of Pope John Paul at the house infront of the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas, saan kaya yun ilalagay, I've heard kasi that such statue will be put up here in Legazpi since HE was the only Pope visited Legazpi way back in the 70's.:okay:

Kasya yan. The lot is big naman kaya nga naha-high blood me nyan kasi tiwangwang ever yan!:lol: About the construction, no info yet but a year is quite predictable.:)

As in ang ganda ganda ng Mayon :) When I went to Albay and our guide led us to the ruins, nakatitig lang ako sa kanya... as in I have never seen such beauty and grandeur ! :)

Bumili rin ako ng mga bags made of water lilies... :) At maraming daing na isda.

I also had a taste of lubi-lubi , ginataang tulingan, at pili nuts.

I have walk the streets of Ligao, Legazpi, Polangui, Daraga and Tobaco.

In all honesty, napakaganda ng province nyo :) :)

The other side, right at the back of the Capitol and at the back of Biggs is the former "harong kan mga Americano" which was part of the the Milwaukee Hospital Complex. BTW, Milwaukee Hospital is now that restaurant complex which used to have Colonial Grill.

I wonder who is now occupying that "harong kan mga Americano". I hope a worthy investor takes over it. For me, the best to be put up there will be a hotel, but they should maintain the concept of the place which was the American period of the twenties and thirties.

Sivah and Frank. Request tabi. Can you take pictures of the present Aquinas Campus. I haven't really been back at Aquinas since I graduated decades ago. When I was studying there, there were only three buildings - The BA-Administration Bldg; Library Bldg which was the one in the center; and, the Technological Sciences Bldg which is the one on the right. But I guess, the names of these buildings have been changed. I can see in Google satellite map that these buildings have been extended and there are new buildings scattered all over the 32 hectare property. I remember, there was a big vacant lot at the back of the basketball court which we used as a golf driving range. A Dominican Brother at that time (his name was Brother Arguelles) was teaching us the basics of golf.

Would appreciate if you can post those pictures here. I know there are other Aquinas alumni in this thread who will be happy seeing them. I was in first year college when the then Legazpi College was elevated to university status - as Aquinas University. gurang na si lolo nindo. hehehe. Thank you.

When I was studying there, there were only three buildings - The BA-Administration Bldg; Library Bldg which was the one in the center; and, the Technological Sciences Bldg which is the one on the right. But I guess, the names of these buildings have been changed. I can see in Google satellite map that these buildings have been extended and there are new buildings scattered all over the 32 hectare property. I remember, there was a big vacant lot at the back of the basketball court which we used as a golf driving range. A Dominican Brother at that time (his name was Brother Arguelles) was teaching us the basics of golf.

Would appreciate if you can post those pictures here. I know there are other Aquinas alumni in this thread who will be happy seeing them. Now on its 16th year, Classic Swing is an annual golf tournament sponsored by the Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC), Philippines. It will be held on January 19, 2012 at The Riviera Golf & Country Club, Silang, Cavite.

As with the many years past, this golf-for-a-cause is aimed at raising funds for the rehabilitation of our ministry in Legaspi City. Right now, our radio station is off air due to a number of issues, beginning with the series of powerful typhoons in 2006 that badly damaged and toppled down our antenna tower. [B]Hopefully, by mid-2012, we can resume broadcasts on the FM band. Once operational, we hope to help uplift the spiritual well-being of those in the area through values-rich positive radio programming.

In the meantime, we are airing a program entitled “Negosyo Asin Trabaho” (Business and Work) in an FM station in Legaspi City. This daily one-hour social service program has helped provide employment for the jobless, as well as encourage small businesses to increase their productivity through the various insights of successful businessmen who guest grace the program. We are thankful for this privilege of touching people even in small ways.
