Do you think investing in prefab & modular housing is a good idea and will make good money in the uk?

i heard tht in France there are now using prefab house coming from Poland. i guess shortage in construction workers is the same than in UK and it would save time and cost for the private developer or even government contracts.

There certainly are many advantages to prefab housing. Many people in the U.S. consider it inferior. I do not.

I for one think prefab housing is a brilliant concept. I'm a bigtime supporter of it, but it is yet to catch the eye (and imagination) of much of the public. Look out for the American magazine "Dwell". It is constantly looking at high-quality prefab housing solutions. From what i can tell though, (or what i predict) is that it may still take some time for modular type housing projects to really take off. But i think that when it does, it should be successful. At the present time i'm going to say it's a bit of a risk. Execute it well and i think it will do ok, but do it wrong and it might not.

am a big believer in prefab, the manufacturing process gives builders good quality and cost controls, allowing them the ability to deliver well made structures in a fast cost controled manner.

With regards to making money in the UK, a real estate project is always location, location, location. The same parameters that make any real estate project succesfull will determine whether you make money on a project whether you use prefab or not. It is but one of several important factors that deterimne project success.
