View Full Version : Chicag "O Sun-Times" Bldg
24gotham February 3rd, 2005, 02:12 AM Caught sight of this on my walk to work this morning and found it a bit humorous. I actually think the sign will offer a slight improvement to such a horrid building. The addition of windows has also helped.

Here is what it looked like a few years ago.

oshkeoto February 3rd, 2005, 02:40 AM That is better.
You know what woudl really improve this building? Some paint. Make a mural in that big blank area, or at least make the building something other than concrete brown.
Rivernorth February 3rd, 2005, 03:00 AM Paint that sucker bright blue. no one would complain about how bad it looks then :D
oshkeoto February 3rd, 2005, 05:44 AM ^ I'm thinking a 60s tie-dye scheme.
24gotham February 3rd, 2005, 05:48 AM I have to say, each time I see the Sun Times sign, it is a vast improvement. Again, it is still a hideous building, but the sign helps.
ChicagoLover February 3rd, 2005, 09:24 AM How about a Christo wrap?
Chi-town February 3rd, 2005, 06:33 PM Christo wouldn't wrap that ugly piece of shit.
Rivernorth February 3rd, 2005, 11:02 PM ^ I'm thinking a 60s tie-dye scheme.
Hah! Yeah, why the hell not! :D
24gotham February 4th, 2005, 01:48 AM They finished putting up the "Chicag" on the "o Sun-Times" building today.

Thanks for posting the pictures....I was wondering if they had added more windows and your pictures show that they did. Too bad they couldn't go all the way up on the main building.
qwerty1324 March 18th, 2005, 02:18 AM The Sun Times always chooses the ugliest buildings.
Btw, InTheLoop, great Avatar.
24gotham March 18th, 2005, 05:30 AM ^The Sun Time's has a penchant for less than glamorous digs, I will definately agree.
>>> qwerty, Thanks for the feedback on my avitar. I accidently discovered how to do animated gif's with the strip down "Photoshop Elements" software that came with my computer.

Azn_chi_boi March 18th, 2005, 01:43 PM Is Sun times on a budget, so thats why it pick the ugliest buildings?
simulcra March 19th, 2005, 01:53 AM wow, that sign dramatically improves the building, i guess by giving some sort of object in the middle of the drabness.
james2390 March 19th, 2005, 02:50 AM Great improvement, but the building is still fugly.
24gotham March 19th, 2005, 09:23 PM I completely agree that the sign is a huge improvement to such a hideous building. While still ugly as hell, the sign dramatically reduces fever, headache, and eye strain when viewing.
