Love the skyline 9/10

^ Actually I took it, posted it on SSP. It was a lovely morning view from a hospital site tour.

The one I found wasn't credited properly, but I'm glad you came across it so I could fix it.

i love how dense it is. its long and dense. and it has two tall clusters mixed in there and it really makes the skyline balanced. it really holds its own against much larger cities.

I hope when they replace the Saddledome they simply build a bigger, nicer version with the same name and same saddle roof. Maybe a 24,000 seat Saddledome with a higher roof line. It looks great in the foreground.

You're right. It's a Canadian skyline echoing a British skyline which is imitating Toronto! Olympia & York used downtown Toronto as its inspiration for Canary Wharf.

I agree. It's still a work in progress. Calgary needs that one significantly taller tower to crown it.

Calgary's a city on steroids. It wouldn't shock me at all if they built one in the next 10 years. Demand is far more important than population in determining these things.

wow, this is a big change from 3 years ago. nice.

The Bow doesn't dominate as much as I'd feared it would. It terms of Calgary's size, this is as good a skyline as anyone could hope for. 9.5/10

I'm amazed by the size of the skyline considering the population.

It is very impressive, the Denver area has about 2.6 million, more than double and the skyline is about the same, if not a bit smaller than Calgary.

It's quite something. Almost all of it is office too. If a condo boom takes hold here mirroring Toronto, watch out.

i love the way you can see in this picture how the skyline steps up to the taller towers as you get closer to the center of the cluster.

Also, as a side note, a huge land transaction has occured downtown. An entire city block has been purchased by Brookfield Properties, with the potential to build 2.8 million square feet. In the picture above, it would be just to the left of the tallest building (The Bow), which is pretty much the 'epicentre' of downtown. Brookfield has already started a global competition of a select group of Architects. The last time something like this happened, we got The Bow. Whatever will be built, will be massive!

Excellent skyline....Canada's city skylines are fantastic

Skyline is very dense, very big and tall relative to the size of the metro area, pretty good architecture inc. high ratio of office to condo, and has a nice shape/balance from most angles. 8/10
