Psirri yes there is where you whona be when you want to be seen in Athens
with its Contemporary Restaurants.. still traditional but cocked and served more state of the art actualy psirri has its own Website and you can see whats going on today or ... book a restaurant, theatre, nightclub or the arts galerie... Psirri (http://psirri.gr/english/index.cfm)
when I was the first time in psirri I could not believe how it changed with all the renovations and....
well here some facts
In 1979, Psirri was incorporated into the Historic Center of Athens, receiving formal recognition as part of the old city of Athens, worthy of preservation and restoration.
Both on a governmental level,and through private initiative,
Though lesser known than its more glamorous cousin, Plaka, Psirri is a kaleidoscope of sensations and contrasts.
Ongoing renewal and restoration, achieved primarily through private investment has led to a veritable boom in the Arts ,with the construction or renovation of Theaters, Cinemas, restaurants, and nightclubs.
With this substantial growth, interest in Psirri as a residential area is at an all time high, and is considered a “prime location” for entertainment and the arts. Its not by coincidence that Psirri has been dubbed “the Soho of Athens”.
