Mersin (Also known as İçel/Icel)

Mersin is one of the most modern provinces of the palmlined avenues, city park and modern hotels region and a good base for visiting the nearby historical sites and beaches. Mersin which is the largest port on the Turkish Mediterranean. There is also free zone here. It is a business centre. In Mersin you may find all the comforts of a modern city and all the characteristics of the Mediterranean cities. Fish is as well as most delicious in this region and in the Mersin fish market you will find inexpensive fish restaurants which are really enjoyable for those who love fish and "Raki" or wine. Although Mersin dates only from the 19th century, it occupies an extremly ancient site. At Mount Yumuktepe the excavations proved that there had been twelve successive settlements beginning from the Neolithic Period.

Icel also has hunting, fishing, picnicking, mountaineering and caving attractions.

History

Formerly MERSINA, city and seaport, south-central Turkey. It lies along the Mediterranean Sea at the extreme western end of the Cilician Plain, 40 miles (65 km) west-southwest of Adana.

A town of recent origin, Mersin stands near the site of an unidentified ancient settlement. The ruins of the Roman harbour town of Soli-Pompeiopolis lie immediately to the west. Excavations in a mound called Yümük Tepesi, 2 miles (3 km) north of the modern harbour, indicate settlements in the remote Neolithic (New Stone Age) Period: a village was fortified there as early as c. 3600 BC and again during the Old Hittite (c. 1750-1460 BC) and New Hittite (c. 1460-1200 BC) empires but was abandoned after the foundation of Pompeiopolis.

Mersin's artificial harbour is an outlet for the agricultural products and minerals of the Cilician Plain and southeastern Anatolia. The site was chosen because of its silt-free location and its rail and road connections with the interior. A branch line links Mersin with Adana and the Istanbul-Baghdad railway. The port is connected by ferry to Cyprus. Mersin is the site of one of Turkey's largest oil refineries. Pop. (1980 prelim.) 216,308.

No Mersin is not a holiday city, it is an industry and business city. Also it has some sort of free tax or low tax industrial/business zones, which makes city vibrant in those areas.

However, the shape of the Mercin Metropol Hotel (is this the name or has it changed?) signifies one of the most notable tall buildings in this part of the workd - (i.e. the Balkans and Asia Minor), I came close to say middle east but unfortunately for all of us, the Emirates have started to take off architecturally and only buildings like the Diamond of Istanbul and the rest of the projects above 200m may make a difference there.

Still though from what I know the Metropol must be #2 in Turkey, standing between IsBankasi and Teskstilkent towers.

Interesting though, our cities present some somilarities in their modern architectures due to the use of concrete and glass, with height being some times the only differentiating element.

Mersin is now added to my list of places to visit next year.

Hi gm, i have been to Mersin a few times. You are right, the Mersin Merit Tower or whatever it is called is very notable structure, however it is highly doubtful that Mersin is one of the most beautiful cities in Turkey. It lacks the beauty, history and soul that other Turkish cities like Antalya, Kayseri, Konya, Antalya have in common.(at least IMHO)

This is probably because many Turkish (and Greek for that matter) cities have been built very fast to accomodate various needs that have risen from the sudden economic development for the last 30 years.

I will agree that Mersin is not Istanbul, or Izmir but, I can see that the mayor has been very active during those last years. I mean, ugly buildings or lack of history (compare it to Ankara which has been there as a settlement since 3000 years ago) cannot be a burden if the mayor has the will to transform the city. After all, seaside cities are by nature blessed with an advantage over landlocked ones.

This Mersin Metropol or Merit building though... Remarkable. I mean, why would they build such a tall building there instead of another city like Istanbul or Izmir?

Yes, İçel is the province... Actually we always confused about this subject... When we write İstanbul, İstanbul what? Istanbul city, or the province... Both of them are not the same...

yes true. Icel is the name of the province, however Mersin officially was called Icel after the province for some time, and appearently no one didn't like it.

Nice pics from this Business district, although Ankara has some better buildings to present. Actually, Ankara is a very interesting case and besides Cankaya / Doikmen Valley complex I also like the Prime Ministry Towers. I believe they may be the best twins in Turkey, more elaborate than the TATs and the Sabanci Towers.

It was so some years ago, but it's no longer that way. Both the province and the city are called Mersin from now on. I got this information from one of the Turkish Consulates in the US.

Mersin was a beautiful city once, about 25-30 years ago and much earlier. I lived in Mersin until 1984. Mersin was still a lovely place then and migration/invasion from east, southeast started. It was mainly Kurdish-Turkish citizens. They started to settle outside the city and then by time spread all over the city. It is a free country and everyone is entitled to a better life where ever the better life is.

I visited Mersin in 1993 and I could not believe my eyes. The Mersin I remembered from 9 years ago had gone and destruction of the gardens, fields and the costline had taken over.

The current pictures tell me that Mersin has become just another overfast developing city, every available space has been occupied with ugly buildings without character. Some might say the truth is otherwise but I do remember Mersin with its past glory.

Dünyaya açık bir liman olması, halkının bir kısmının Avrupa ve Lübnan ile olan ticari ilişkileri sonucu, şehir yaşantısına Avrupai bir görünüm gelmiştir. İnsanlarının giyimleri de farklı idi. Şehrin zengin kişileri, özellikle yaz kıyafetlerini Avrupa'dan ve Beyrut'tan getirirlerdi. Orta tabakanın hakim olduğu huzurlu bir kent idi Mersin. Değişik ırk, din ve mezhepler sebebiyle adetler de değişikti. Bilhassa düğün ve cenazelerde bu durum daha belirgindi. Şehirde Türkçe'nin yanısıra, arapça ve Fransızca da konuşulurdu

1881 yılı Osmanlı İmparatorluğu kayıtlarına göre Mersin’de 20.007 müslüman, 1.152 rum-ortodoks, 440 ermeni, 297 katolik bulunmaktaydı. 1890 yılına ait başka bir kaynakta ise Mersin’de ki nüfus: 5240 müslüman, 2700 rum-ortodoks, 800 ermeni ve 260 katolik olarak verilmektedir. Gene bu tarihte Mersin’de 1 cami, 3 rum-ordokos kilisesi (şimdiki Zafer Çarşısının yeri olan Aya Yorgi kilisesi, şimdiki Aziz Mikail ve Cebrail’e adanmış kilise, Osmaniye mahallesindeki Aya Nikola Kilisesi, şimdiki camisi), 1 ermeni kilisesi (Yoğurt pazarının 150 metre kuzeyinde Kuvayi Milliye Caddesinden az içeride bulunmaktaydı), 1 latin katolik kilisesi, 1 maroni kilisesi (latin katolik kilisesine yakın şimdiki camisi) ve bir de amerikalıların yönettiği, Maroni kilisesinin karşısında protestan kilisesi bulunmaktaydı. 1896 da Büyük Hamam’ın karşısında bir Ermeni Katolik kilisesi ve 1898 yılında Yeni Hal ile Salim Güven okulunun bulunduğu yerde bir Ermeni protestan kilisesi inşa edilir. Musevilerde 1906 yılında şimdiki Soğuksu caddesinde bir Havra açarlar. Bunların yanında Katolik kilisesinin iki okulu, Rum ortodoks kilisesinin üç okulu, bir ermeni okuluyla, arap hıristiyanların da bir okulu mevcuttu. Bunların yanında bir o kadar da Türk okulları bulunmaktaydı.
I.Dünya Savaşı ile gelen, önce ingiliz sonra Fransız işgalinin ardından başlatılan bağımsızlık savaşları sonucunda, Mersin'in sosyoekonomik yapısında önemli değişiklikler oldu. Savaş koşulları nedeniyle bir kısım Türkler'in cepheye gitmesi veya göç etmesi, bazı Gayrimüslimler'in kentten ayrılması, Rumlar'ın ise mübadele sonucu Yunanistan'a gitmeleri, nüfusu büyük oranda azaltmış, yakın geçmişteki ekonomik dinamizm kaybedilmişti, uluslararası ticari ilişkiler istenilen düzeyde değildi. Şehirdeki katolik nüfusta da ciddi düşüşler görülmekteydi.

zaten yerli turzmi var. ama çok göç aldı Mersin. gecekondu mahalleleri oluştu maalesef. Çoğu güneydoğu'dan gelen insanlar bunlar, ama maalesef, nerelisin dendiğinde "Mersin'liyiz" diyorlar masus. Halbuki bakıyorsun Mardin'li, yada Diyarbakır'lı.

mersin 2012 Akdeniz oyunlarına adaydı ama Volos kazandı haklı olarak zira tesisleri ve ulaşım imkanları hazırdı. Mersin'de stadyum falan yoktu.

Olay çatı olayı. Eski Mersin yapılarına bakıldığında hepsi çatılı ancak şehir engellenemeyen bir şekilde göç nedeniyle büyümek zorunda kalınca çatısız, çirkin beton yığınları ile doldu. Aşağıdan o kadar da kötü görünmüyor ama, planlı bir yapılaşma mevcut.

Yanlış hatırlamıyorsam birinci körfez savaşı öncesi kent inanılmaz bir gelişim içersindeydi ve çok büyük bir sanayi başkenti olma yönünde ilerliyordu, gökdelen ise yatırımcılar tarafından ileriye yönelik yapılmış bir öngörü sonucu inşa edilmişti ancak durumun kumar olduğu ve kaybedildiği savaş sonrası anlaşıldı. Kent hem kaybettiklerinin hem de doğudan gelen göçlerin yaralarını hala saramıyor. 1900'lü yılların başında nüfusunun önemli bir kısmını gayrimüslimler oluştururken günümüzde kentin nüfusu 800.000'i devirmiş, bu oran %50 Kürt kökenli vatandaşlarımız ve %50 Türk kökenli vatandaşlarımıza kadar çıkmış durumda.

Çukurova Çukurovayken bu ovanın tarım ürünlerinin ticareti Mersin'de kurulan limandan yapılıyordu. Ticaret çok gelişmişti. Yani sanayiden ziyade tarıma dayalı ticaret ile gelişti. Bu 52 katlı Mertim otel binası da o dönemde yapıldı, 1987'de zannedersem. Ama ne çukurova kaldı ne tarım Türkiye'de ne de Adana'daki pamuk, tekstil sanayii. Bossa diye Türkiye'nin en büyük tekstil firmalarından biri vardı Adana'da ki bu firmalarda Mersin ve iskenderun limanlarını kullanıyorlardı. Turizmle ilgili de bi girişim olmayınca Mersin geri planda kaldı.

As far as I know, it is the biggest and busiest port of Turkey. The whole export of Çukurova (also Harran) is done via there. The railways and highways also make Mersin the ideal center of logistics.

^^ it is orginally Greek word. Limani is turned to Liman in Turkish. Because of Turks learned the navy from Byzantians , many words in Turkish about this issue are Greek. also name of the most of the fishes and some wind names ect ect...

Founder of first Turkish navy was Çaka bey who has been enslaved by Byzantians and lived and learned sailing in Constantinople. Later when he has got free , founded his own naval forces and establish his own state in Izmir. But later Seljuk Sultan, Kılıj Aslan I murdered him because he got strong and was independent.

Anlatsana Mersin'i nasıl buldun vs.

öncelikle saat geç oldu, ve kafa biraz iyi o yüzden özet mahiyetinde anlatmam gerekirse.

Genel olarak Mersin'i İzmir, Antalya arası karma birşey olarak buldum, yani biraz İzmir'i, biraz da Antalya'yı hatırlattı bana. Her Türk şehri gibi çarpık kentleşmeden nasibini almış, bir yanda modern binalar, bir yanda dökülen apartmanlar. Ancak şöyle bir güzellik yapmışlar; sahil şeridi hakikaten güzel, yürü yürü bitmiyor, ve sahil boyunca güzel kafeler, parklar. Ama ilgimi çeken bunlardan hiç birinde oturup bir bira içemiyorsun, ona da telafi olarak sahil şeridinin gerisindeki yol boyunca çeşitli barlar publar var, her ne kadar denize biraz uzak kaçsa da gayet güzel olmuş. (ama o çatılardaki su depoları, gerçekten olmamış, bi çare lazım).

Dikkatimi çeken bir başka şey de; her adım başı camii yok, ayarını iyi tutturmuşlar, İstanbul gibi işin b.kunu çıkarmamışlar.

Fazla vaktim olmadı etrafı gezmeye, o yüzden de, kameramı götürmeme rağmen pek fotoğraf çekemedim, ancak ilerde sırf tatil amaçlı gelmek isterim.

Şimdi gelelim asıl meseleye, (:D), İzmir naam yapmış güzel kızlarıyla, haklı olarak, ancak üniveristedeki Mersinli hatun kişisi arkadaşlardan bilirdim Mersinli kızların hoş olduğunu ama şunu abartmadan diyebilirim ki, Mersinli hatunlar hakikaten İzmir'le yarışabilir, hatta belki geçebilir bile (ben esmer severim, her ne kadar baya çakma sarışın olsa da etrafta). En kısa sürede tayinimi istiycem Mersine :tongue2:

Diğer noktalara gelecek olursak; cezeriye olayına girmeye cesaret edemedim, etraftaki bu hatunlarla tecavüzcü çoşkun moduna girebilirim :D, tantuninin hası Pozcu'da Melek Tantuni'de (yaprak tantuni halt etmiş), tavsiye ederim, yağlı et sevmiyorsanız biftk isteyin, tantuni diiyince Ankaradaki gibi yağsız et gelmiyor, yağsız et için biftek istemek gerek, bi de yanına acılı şalgam, oh suyundan da koy (acı güzel de masa başı işim var oturmam lazım diyorsanız getirdikleri yeşil biberleri yemeden önce iki kere düşünün).

Ulaşım olayına gelince, klimalı minibüs-dolmuşlar var bol bol, daha ne diim, İ.Melih'e selam olsun millet balık istifi gitmiyor.

Ha ulaşım demişken; Mersin VİF'in neoplan otobüsüyle Ankra'dan Mersin'e gayet güzel yolculuk yapılır, herifler sürekli beslediler bizi yol boyunca, poğaçalar, çörekler gırla.

Jünyüs'ün söyledigi DU999'un fotografinda gördügümüz binalar, palmiyeler ve günesli havayla, tam bir Miami havasi katiyorlar sehre. Umarim Mersin biraz daha endüstri ve ticaret hacmi yaratarak hakettigi yere gelir. Böyle binalar hakikaten cok yakisiyor Mersin'e...

Mersini tanıyamaz oldum, Cumhuriyet`e Evimiz var google Earth`le bulmaya çalıştım ama nafile, Mahale cok deyişmiş :lol: Beni en Çok sevindiren olay Mersinin düzenli gelişmesi. Mersin Belediyesi son 16 Yılda Büyük İşler yaptı :okay::applause:

Göz boyama ise evet, Mersin yeni gelin gibi süsleniyor, püsleniyor, pazarlanıyor. Bundan şüphe yok ama yapılamayan tüm önemli projeler için bahanesi hazır: hükümet. Olmaz, olmamalı, Mersin bir otogar yenilemek için hükümete muhtaç olmamalı, yapabilmeli. Bu belediye başkanının, başkanlığının başarısızlığıdır.

Mersin'de bir sonraki yerel seçimde yine çoğunluk oyu alacak olan sosyal demokrat parti seçilecek ve bu sefer LÜTFEN (CHP, DSP veya hangi parti ön sıralarda yer alacaksa) şu Macit Özcan'ı değiştirin, aday göstermeyin, yeter 15 yıldır bu adam yahu!!

@Leo, M. Özcan 15 Senedir seçiliyorsa bir sebebi var mutlaka, bana kalırsa 15 Sene daha kalsın yeterki böyle devam etsin, Otogar`ı da zamanı gelirse yenilerler herhalde. Macit Özcan`ın Büyük İşler yapması diyer Adayların Oy kaybetmesi demektir.
Şuanki Hükümet belki bu yüzden zorluk çıkarıyor olabilir Para Konusunda, benim Türkiyedeki Finanse konusunda hiç bi bilgim yok açıkcası, Belediyelerin Para Konusunda Ankaraya ne kadar muhtaç olup olmadıklarını bilmiyorum.

Macit Özcan Mersin'de hiçbir büyük projeyi hayata geçirememiştir ve önümüzdeki 4 yılda da geçirmeye niyeti yoktur. Bir üstteki arkadaşın dediği gibi herşeye hükümet kulpunu takmaktadır. Nerde raylı sistem projesi? Cevap hazır, hükümet izin vermiyormuş. Kredi kullansana, Eskişehir'e de kimse izin vermedi, 1 milyon sınırını geçmedikçe zaten hazine kefil olmuyor. Yeni Otogar? Cevap hazır, para kısıtlı geliyormuş, en basitinden Büyükşehir Belediyesi olmayan ve bizden az para alan Maraş'ın, Malatya'nın otogarlarını gördünüz mü? Macit Özcan beceriksizliği kısacası bu cevaplar.

GMK Bulvarı, 2.Çevre Yolu da denilen Okan Merzeci Bulvarı'nın krık dökük, berbat kaldırım ve yollarını ise saymıyorum bile. Aaa bir de minibüs rezaleti var ki şehirde, 2010 yılına gelmişiz Mersin'de toplu taşımanın ilkelliği canımızı acıtıyor. Her semtin maşallah koop'ları var, heryer minibüs kaynıyor, Mersin Büyükşehir mi dediniz? Artık büyükşehirler minibüsleri kaldırırken bizim Macit'e toplu taşımadaki engin görüşleri nedeniyle teşekkür ediyorum.

Doğu'dan gelenlerin oluşturduğu ve sıkça TV'lerde de izlediğiniz varoşlarda ise kentsel dönüşümün adı bile geçmiyor, İstanbul gibi devasa bir kent bile kentsel dönüşüm işini çözerken Mersin'de daha bir tane proje dahi üretilmemesi belediyenin kimlerin elinde heder olduğunu yeterince gösteriyor.

Kentin doğusu ve kuzeyi nerdeyse komple varoşlardan oluşuyor ama bu rezilliği biz görüyoruz, belediye kör-sağırı oynamaya devam ediyor. Kentin girişi ise koyun-inek ve evsiz insanların çadırlarından oluşan bir hayvan pazar-bataklığı karışımından oluşan pislik yuvası bir görüntü içinde bulunuyor, insanlar Mersin'e girerken neler düşünüyor siz tahmin edin..

Son olarak diyeceğim o ki, bu adam başarılı olduğu için değil, malesef partisinden dolayı seçilmiştir, genel olarak sosyal demokrat bir karakter gösteren Mersin'de zaten hükümet partisinin şansı yoktu, adam yokluğundan vizyonsuz, projesiz saçma sapan bir başkana Mersin'i emanet ettik, yazık..

Toros dağları yeşeriyor

Mersin Orman Bölge Müdürlüğünce geçen yıl Toros Dağları'nın yüksek rakımlı bölgelerine ekilen 2850 ton sedir tohumunun çimlenmeye başladığı bildirildi.

Orman Bölge Müdürü Mustafa Gözükara yaptığı yazılı açıklamada, ''Milli Ağaçlandırma Seferberliği'' kapsamında geçen yıl 15 bin 61 hektar sahada ağaçlandırma ve rehabilitasyon çalışması yaptıklarını belirtti.

Yürüttükleri çalışmalarda 7 milyon 600 bin fidan dikildiğini ve 4500 ton sedir ve kızılçam tohumu toplandığını ifade eden Gözükara, şunları kaydetti:
''Özellikle yüksek rakımlı bölgelerde, 'Toroslar'ın inci kolyesi' olarak adlandırdığımız tahrip edilmiş sahaları tekrar sedir ormanlarıyla bezemek ve yeşil örtüsüne kavuşturmak için yaptığımız çalışmada, elde ettiğimiz 2850 ton sedir tohumunu, geçen yıl kasım-aralık aylarında toprakla buluşturduk. Bu sedir tohumları geçen ay içerisinde çimlenerek, Toroslar'ı yeşil örtüyle bezemeye başladı. Çimlenen bu tohumlar ilerleyen süreçte sedir ormanlarına dönüşecek.''

Yaptıkları çalışmalar neticesinde il genelinde bugüne kadar 78 bin hektar sedir ormanı tesis edildiğini vurgulayan Gözükara, şöyle devam etti:
''Böylelikle sorumluluk alanımızdaki sedir ormanı 150 bin hektara ulaştı. Her yıl yeni sahalar eklediğimiz bu alanlara bugüne kadar 40 milyon fidan dikilirken, 19 milyar sedir tohumu ekildi. Bu çalışmaların yüzyılın en büyük problemi olan küresel ısınma ve iklim değişikliği ile mücadelede önemli katkı sağlayacağına inanıyorum.''

Orman Bölge Müdürlüğü tarafından yürütülen; ‘Her Köye Bir Orman Projesi’ kapsamında merkez ilçe Toroslar’a bağlı Dorukkent beldesinde bir ilköğretim okulu bahçesine fidan dikimi gerçekleştirildi. ‘Dünya Ormancılık Günü’ ve ‘Ormancılık Haftası’ kutlama etkinlikleri kapsamında Toroslar İlköğretim Okulu’nda gerçekleştirilen etkinliğe Toroslar Kaymakamı Mehmet Suat İlhan, Toroslar Belediye Başkanı Hamit Tuna, Orman Bölge Müdürü Mustafa Gözükara, İlçe Milli Eğitim Müdürü Ali Yılmaz’ın yanı sıra çok sayıda öğrenci katıldı.

Burada konuşan Gözükara, küresel ısınma ve buna bağlı olarak yaşanan iklim değişikliğinin olumsuzlarının en aza indirilebilmesi noktasında Mersin’deki yeşil dokuyu arttırabilmenin çabası içinde olduklarını söyledi. Gözükara, Çevre ve Orman Bakanlığı tarafından hayata geçirilen, ‘Milli Ağaçlandırma Seferberliği’ ile birlikte 2003-2009 yılları arasında 86 bin hektarlık alanı rehabilite ederek ağaçlandırdıkları bilgisini vererek, bununla birlikte verimli orman alanı oranını yüzde 55 seviyesine çıkarttıklarını dile getirdi.

2012 yılında verimli orman alanı sayasını yüzde 60 oranına yükseltmeyi hedeflediklerini kaydeden Gözükara, ayrıca 150 bin hektarlık alanda da ağaçlandırma çalışması yapılması konusunda da çalışmalara başladıklarını ifade etti. Geride bıraktığımız 2009 yılında 9 milyon 600 bin adet fidanı toprakla buluşturduklarının altını çizen Gözükara, 6 milyar tohum ekerken, 18 bin hektarlık alanın da ağaçlandırıldığını, yapılan tüm bu çalışmaların sadece Türkiye açısından değil, dünya için de oldukça önemli olduğunu savundu. Mustafa Gözükara, “İçtiğimiz suyun kalitesi ve miktarının arttırılması, soluduğumuz havanın temiz olması, ormanların çoğaltılması ve ekosistemin iyileştirilmesi ile mümkün olacaktır. ‘Milli Ağaçlandırma Seferberliği’ kapsamında başlatmış olduğumuz çalışmalarımız çok ciddi projelerle devam ediyor” dedi. Türkiye’nin geleceği olan çocuklara çevre bilincinin yanı sıra doğa sevgisinin de aşılanmasını önemsediklerini dile getiren Gözükara, bu noktada gerçekleştirilen fidan dikim etkinliğinin çocuklarda var olan sevgiyi de perçinleyeceğine inandığını söyledi.

İlçe Milli Eğitim Müdürü Ali Yılmaz ise, ormanların bir ülkenin en büyük doğal hazinesi olduğunu ifade ederek, “Ağaçlar, bir başka ifadeyle ormanlar doğanın akciğeri gibidir. Soluduğumuz hava, teneffüs ettiğimiz oksijen, yeşillik ve estetik güzellik bunların hepsi ağaçlardan elde ediliyor. Tüm bu değerlerimize sahip çıkmak zorundayız” diye konuştu. Konuşmaların ardından öğrenciler tarafından orman ve çevre sevgisini işleyen şiirler okunurken, Toroslar Anaokulu’nun minik sakinleri tarafından da küçük bir tiyatro gösterisi gerçekleştirildi. Halk oyunları etkinliğinin ardından fidanlar toprakla buluşturuldu.

Teşekkürler Arda, çok güzel resimler.

Özellikle üstteki resim üzerinden konuşmak istiyorum. Arada gördüğünüz limon bahçesinin tüm Mersin'e yayıldığını, kente girdiğinizde beton canavarlar yerine mütevazi evler ve limon-portakal kokularının sizi karşıladığını düşünün. Bu resimdeki tüm arazilerin narenciye bahçeleriyle kaplı olduğunu ve Mersin nüfusunun yerel halktan oluştuğunu, doğudan aldığı göçlerle birlikte 1 milyona dayanmadığını düşünün.

Ne yazık ki yukarıda saydıklarım çok geçmişte kaldı. Şimdi Mersin yeşili katledilmiş, beton bloklarla doldurulmuş, korkunç bir canavar haline geldi. Keşke eskisi gibi kalmış olsaydı diyorum...

1980'li yıllarda Turgut Özal'ın Batı Akdeniz'deki Antalya için verdiği turizm teşviklerinin o kıyıların devamı olan Doğu Akdeniz'deki Mersin için her nedense ama gerçekten hala anlamadığım bir şekilde her nedense verilmemesi, bunun sonucu o güzelim plajların, kıyıların devasa sitelerle doldurulması; o dönemin Mersin Belediye Başkanı olan Kaya Mutlu denilen şahısın belediyeye doğudan önemli miktarda işçi getirtmesiyle de Doğu göçünün ilk adımlarını atıp kentteki bugünkü terörist yuvalanmalara sebep olması...İşte Mersin'in dönüm noktası yaşadığı iki olay, biri genelde diğeri yerelde iki yöneticinin attığı ya da atmadığı adımlar sonucu bugünkü Mersin oluşmuştur, yanıbaşındaki Adana'nın hep gölgesinde, diğer yanındaki Antalya'nın hep gerisinde...
Biz yine de fotolara devam diyoruz, herşeye rağmen Mersinimizi seviyoruz :)

Fotoğraflar harika, emeğine sağlık valla.

Bence Mersin havadan baya kötü ama yerden fena değil.

Bence de o iki gökdelen dahil herşeyiyle korkunç gözüküyor havadan. Ancak şehir gelişiyor, inşallah gelecek yıllarda daha da güzelleşir.. Yine de insan hayıflanmadan edemiyor, keşke Mersin'den zamanında küçük bir Dubai yaratılabilseydi diye...

Ne diyosunuz mersinde skyline oluşur mu?

Mersin'in kuzeyine 30.000 kişilik yeni bir stat da yapılacak.Arsa belli,kulüp de çok istiyor..GSİM ve Toki'yle önümüzdeki ay sözleşme imzalanacak.Arsanın yerini bilen biri varmı acaba

Boyle devam ederse.. iyi stadyumular sadece 2. ve 3. ligde olcak :D superlig de daha eski stadyumlar haha

Orası yeni Yat Limanı, 500 yat kapasiteli olarak yapıldı. 10 yıldır atıl vaziyette bekliyordu. Ulaştırma Bakanlığı üst yapısı ve işletmesi için ihaleye çıktı ve ihaleyi alan firma geçen ay Binali Yıldırım'ın da katıldığı törenle üst yapı temel atma törenini yaptı, şu an inşaat devam ediyor. Bu binayı nasıl yapmışlar hayret ediyom ya!!

Eskilerin hiç dizayn merakı zevkleri yokmuydu çok merak ediyorum.Yüksekliği dışında ilgi çeker bir yanı yok.

İstanbul'da Arap turist mi gördüğünüzü sanıyorsunuz, bir de güneyi görün. Suriye ile vize kalkmasından sonra inanılmaz bir turist akını oldu. Gezmeye ve alışveriş yapmaya geliyorlar otobüsler halinde akın akın. Rusların otelleri doldurmaktan başka yararını görmedik, belki bunlar sayesinde "esnaf"ın biraz yüzü güler.

Güzel resimler Arda, eline sağlık. Hafta sonu Mersin'deydim. Ne yazık ki doğalgaz boruları döşeme çalışmaları nedeniyle "tüm kent delik deşik" olmuş. Ne asfalt kalmış ne arabaların adam gibi gidebileceği bir yol. Umarım en kısa zamanda düzeltirler diyeceğim bu belediye başkanıyla olacak iş değil. Patlamaya hazır bir dev olan Mersin bir türlü patlayamıyor, çok acil olarak solun yeni bir aday belirlemesi gerekiyor yoksa Mersin daha uzun yıllar bu belediye başkanı nedeniyle kaybetmeye devam edecek.

Çok doğru bir tespit, bir Mersinli olarak şehrin şu anki bakımsız halinden çok utanıyorum ve çok üzülüyorum. Türkiye'de şu Mersin'in tırnağı olamayacak yerler belediyeleri sayesinde uçup gittiler ancak biz 11 yıldır hiçbir şey yapmayan belediye başkanıyla yerimizde saymaya devam ediyoruz. Ben de geçen hafta Mersin'deydim ve bizim başkanın o çok övündüğü ve benimde fotoğraflarımda gözüken sahil şeridindeki Kültür ve Atatürk parkları çöp yığını içindeydi. Heryer poşet, şişe, pislik rezalet içinde. Sebebi ise temizlik ihalesinin gecikmiş olmasıymış..Yazık vallahi Mersin'e..

Mersin'in gökyüzünden görünüşü, aslında şehrin çok büyük bir genişleme alanı var, planlı-programlı bir şekilde buralarda harikalar yaratılabilir bence. En solda gökdelen görünüyor, fotonun sağ tarafında ise yeni marina gözükmekte, ek bilgi olarak marinanın üst yapı inşaatı devam ediyor..
