The Rumeli Castle was built by the Ottomans in just 3 months in 1452 in order to block the entrence Bosphorus during the siege of Constantinople (May 29, 1453).

awesome... when you look from the top, the casle says the name of its builder, did you know that? :) ... it reads "Mehmed".

it reads mohammad-and its turkish version (sultan)mehmed in arabic letters... but is it still true? are there any demolished buildings in complex? any one knows?
