View Full Version : Three 16 storey highrises proposed in Icelandc town Akureyri

This is the first picture of the proposed buildings. The buildings will be three and will be built on a shopping mall and will all be 16 storey high. The arichtects are the Zeppelin architects in Iceland.

Akureyri is reffered to as the capital town of northern Iceland.

not too bad :) How tall will they be exactly? (in metres)

if built, they would be 47m.

Oh ok. They could have been a bit taller, but i guess 47m is good to start off with ;)

they idea was 60m at first but they had to lower the buildings down, I think because of airtraffic.

Akureyri is a small city in the north part of Iceland .. and the population is only 15000

16 floors ain't bad for a small Icelandic city. They look cool, hopefully we'll see more tall buildings going up on our northern neighbour-island :)

^yeah, 3x16s aint bad at all for a town of 15000.
Personally, I'd prefer it if the three buildings looked diffrent from eachother instead of (like that remdering implies) they being three identical towers.

I really like these towers. Boxy, but however with interesting design...
