Samobor, western Croatia

Samobor is a little town, situated on the eastern slopes of the Samobor hills, at the exit from the picturesque valley of the Gradna brook. Samobor is also one of the oldest and very attractive weekend resorts in Zagreb county, only twenty kilometers from Zagreb.

two summer pictures :

Hey, thats one real pretty place. I have never seen pics of Samobor despite the fact that one of my friends from Australia moved there a few years ago with his whole family. No wonder. I dont blame them moving there when its that picturesque. Thanks Bubach. How many minutes drive is it from Zagreb?

Looks cozy and very attractive! BTW, this part of Croatia is similar to neighboring Slovenia in terms of landcsapes, architecture, gastronomy, folklore, and even language. Of course, it also has many unique characteristics, but the two countries are very close here, both physically and culturally.

I agree AZ2SI. The proximity to Slovenia has led to a blending of cultures, customs and languages on either side of the border.

I also agree with you guys, but i would rather say it's the mentality, cultural tradition and language thing that this part of Croatia and Slovenia have in common. The architecture or landscape like that can be seen all over continental Croatia, even in very eastern parts of Croatia minus landscape cuz that part of the country is totaly flat, ravnica :)

Yeah, i did have a half of it, they have delicous kremsnitas, but had to split it with some stubborn squirrel that kept bugging me over the kremsnita, so i gave it to her, hopefully she was okay afterwards :)
