You're right : Pamplona-Iruņa is not only San Fermin, it is also ugly. ( If only it hadn't neglected its basque heritage instead of converting itself into a sinister and ordinary Spanish town ... )

are basque cities more beautyful? "sinister and ordinary spanish town", that was touching!
I'm form Gipuzkoa myself and I know Donostia-San Sebastian has no comparison, don't missunderstand me. But it's boring to post the same "perfect photo" everyday, isn't it?

PD: you wouldn't believe how basque pamplona still is ;)

PD: I don't think Pamplona is ugly at all, I love the new 80-90's neigbourhoods, which are not the ones in the photos. This ones are more 50-60-70's neigbourhoods, but I still like them, it's my idea of a dense city.

@Tekno Lx: The fight is more between Bilbao (350000 inhabitants, 950000 in the metro area) and Vitoria-Gasteiz (200000 inhabitants and the Capital of Basque Country). But the fight is not very big, dont think that we are hitting people or something like that XD

Actually... there's not any big fight about capitality.

Vitoria is the capital about politics
Bilbao is the capital about economy
SanSebastian is... well, it's San Sebastian! what else does it need!

you could say that SS is the capital about culture, I think.

It's not basque-speaking for sure but you can't deny Navarra and its capital are essential in the Basque identity. It just depends on the way you define what is Basque or not. Don't forget that in Roman times, Basque was spoken from Soria to Bordeaux. Just look at the Navarrese or Riojanan toponyms : half of them are undoubtfully basque. Denying that Navarra and noticeably Pamplona have Basque roots is pure revisionism.

It looks modern and also a bit cold, reminds of Scandinavia. Are there no old town district?

The church looks very nice.
