Steeltown February 20th, 2005, 08:22 AM Whoa that took awhile to load up. Did a good job Taha.
The Art Gallery is looking good with the renovations so far.
To see the progress made here's pictures of the Art Gallery I took over the summer

^ That's Trinity Landing, former Hamilton Spectator warehouse being turned into lofts. It was a real eyesore.
Rendering picture of Trinity Landing
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v384/Aallen396/trinity.jpg
The rendering looks a lot different since it's got an extra floor. Dunno what happened there.
Brett February 20th, 2005, 06:14 PM I've wanted to take a pic from this bridge on james looking north to downtown. You would probabely need the railroads persmission to get on top of that bridge. But, the shot would be great.

Brian In Lon. Ont. February 20th, 2005, 06:17 PM Way to go. Great pics. I've never seen a Hamilton photo thread quite like this before. Just your usual skyline shots from the mountain...
Steeltown February 20th, 2005, 09:12 PM Brett you might get on top of the bridge if you go under John Street from the bridge, you should see a door there. I dunno if you need to pay the GO train to get up though.
It would be an interesting view.
Taha February 21st, 2005, 12:50 AM Thanks steeltown that was chilly cold day for taking photos. But I will always try to take hamilton or another location photos. Because this is my duty. :)
howjimaru February 28th, 2005, 02:42 AM hamilton downtown looks so ghetto.......................
so many hobos
Brett February 28th, 2005, 03:31 AM I've seen a lot of crazy things happen downtown... Saturdays Nights after the bars close going to get some Swarma.
Steeltown, ill have check that door out that you are talking about :runaway:
Uskudar1990 February 28th, 2005, 04:47 AM Great pictures Taha :okay:
do you have any pictures of that one Turkish restaurant in Hamilton?? What was it called? Anatolia?
Jaybird February 28th, 2005, 05:53 PM I don't think on these forums we have seen too many photos of Hamilton's downtown up, close, and personal. Great pictures. Too bad the day was crappy. I always think sunny days make any city look gorgeous. :)
The 2nd picture gives downtown a bit of charm and niceness, IMO!
I like that one the best!
And the 8th, 9th, and 10th, really make Hamilton look like it has amazing urbanity and a bigger city than what it is. :)
Steeltown March 5th, 2005, 07:30 AM Hey Brett this is the kind of view you would get from on top of the bridge.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v174/Appster/D20549_b3.jpg
Brett March 5th, 2005, 06:17 PM yeah, but what i was thinking is looking back towards downtown. That way you could get the pigot building and the twin bank towers behind...
Brett March 6th, 2005, 01:32 AM Well, after making my last post this morning i decided to try to get the shot i wanted. I almost succeded, but i couldn't leave the train platform... Then, i figured i was downtown already might as well take a few pics!
Here is the "almost" shot

This is one of Hamiltons hidden buildings, an old mansion that is now apartments and barley visible. The first shot is looking down James across from the building, then looking across the road at the building. Then i took every angle i could find...

Taha March 6th, 2005, 01:52 AM You did good job guys.
Steeltown March 6th, 2005, 02:32 AM Hey that's quite nice, beautiful clear blue sky. So how did you get on top of the bridge? Have to pay? Someone kick you off the bridge?
That bridge really does give quite a new perspective. Now I wanna get on that bridge and take pictures lol.
I never knew about that mansion. I'll have to keep my eyes open next time I'm around that area.
Brett March 6th, 2005, 03:15 AM To get on the bridge i just sweet talked the lady at the ticket both, then got a special escort up top.... Actually i was a little surprised they let me up!
Victoria March 7th, 2005, 06:56 AM Awesome pics!!! :banana2:
aplz March 12th, 2005, 12:35 PM Very nice pics.
marek bielski March 19th, 2005, 09:25 AM How does the working class neighbourhood close to Stelco looks like?
Brett March 19th, 2005, 05:25 PM Thats a funny question cuz i believe that most of the employees of the steel mills live no where near there place of employment. The housing around the industrial area was nice at one time but is pretty run down now for the most part. The air tastes horrible down there.
ssiguy2 March 19th, 2005, 06:42 PM Great pics, thanks!!!!
Its great to get the photos of the real streetscapes. In smaller cities you can only look at the skyline in so many ways.
But when I see those pics and I know what Hamilton smells like and am soooo glad I'm an ex-Londoner.
Steeltown March 19th, 2005, 08:16 PM How does the working class neighbourhood close to Stelco looks like?
They look like any other Canadian.
But the folks working at Stelco and Dofasco don't live in the North End. They make good income so they can afford to live in places like Dundas and Ancaster.

Steeltown May 18th, 2005, 03:17 AM Nice shots Taha. Can tell you took these photos awhile ago since now there is leaves budding out.
What kind of camera you got? My camera doesn't come out as clear as yours.
Taha May 18th, 2005, 09:56 AM Thank you for loving my photos steeltown. You know I haven't taken any other photos since february. So I am always happy to use my samsung camera. This Camera is absolutely nice and inexpensive for you or someone else. I bought it about 300 dollar from future shop. You can get a better one like same as mine. I like you to buy new camera then.
Here is my camera

Tony May 19th, 2005, 05:43 PM Hi Taha,
