OK, I'll try to make this my last thread about Slovenia for a while. ;)

Velika Planina is an old mountain settlement in the Kamnik-Savinja (Kamnisko-Savinjske) Alps that is a popular winter and summer tourist destination, easily accessible by cable car. Its most remarkable characteristic are small wooden houses/cottages traditionally used by herdsmen.

I found some more photos of Velika Planina at http://www.geocities.com/TheTropics/Cabana/4972/ . They are not the highest quality, but they will give you a good feel for the area:

BTW, the official site of Velika Planina is http://www.velikaplanina.si/, but it doesn't have an English-language section.

P.S. Please let me know if you are not seeing the pictures (I'm worried about the GeoCities address).

Thanks! Here's the location of Velika Planina:

Velika Planina is a part of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The other two Slovenian Alpine subranges are the Julian Alps and the Karavanke (Karawanken), both towards the west.

BTW, it is possible to stay in many of Velika Planina's traditional chalets. Some even have running water and electricity.

I'm glad you like it! Here, BTW, are some pics of Kamnik, a small town that serves as the main gateway to Velika Planina, and after which the Kamnik-Savinja Alps are named:
