View Full Version : Airplanes Landing @ Kai Tak Airport
hkskyline February 22nd, 2005, 03:30 AM Hong Kong is a place of constant change. Photos from just a few years ago can easily go obsolete as new skyscrapers rise and redevelopments take place. These photos were taken in July 1998, just a week before Kai Tak closed. I was joined by a whole crowd of people on the roof of the airport parking lot, capturing the last moments of airplanes descending over Kowloon City. In fact, the entire district was full of photographers trying to capture history in the making.

cmoonflyer July 20th, 2006, 01:37 PM To be moved by these old and unforgettable pics , especially for those who had experienced the moment boarding the airplane overlooking the resplendent and spectacular night vision of Hk !
gladisimo October 13th, 2007, 11:40 AM Hi all
I was wondering if any of you guys have any pictures INSIDE the old Kai Tak airport. I've tried looking online and on flickr and only found a couple...
I was so young the last time I used it (the trip when I moved from Hong Kong to America) I hardly remember it... But I really want something to pique my memories...
superchan7 October 15th, 2007, 07:37 AM Gakei (www.gakei.com) has some.
gladisimo October 15th, 2007, 11:41 AM ^^ Wow, thanks. I tried flickr and there were only 2 or 3 there.

Johnvb October 17th, 2007, 03:31 PM That is insane!
ddes October 17th, 2007, 03:38 PM I used to go to HK with my family for holidays (they luurrvvee HK very much) almost every year when I was young.
I get semi-claustrophobic on aeroplanes hence I MUST fly on the window seats so I always look out the window.
I dreaded landing on Kai Tak, the final approach was horrifying, traumatizing, yet addictive. :)
Anekdote October 17th, 2007, 06:18 PM Nice pictures! I think I'll use this picture as my wallpaper for my iPod touch.
