Hi guys,

Elite Towers is the name of the collection of towers (residential and commercial) in the City of Arabia which I&M Galadari is building in Dubailand.

The brown tower is called Wadi Tower 1 and the other chic looking one is called IMG Tower one. The Wadi Tower is residential, the IMG Tower is commercial.

Both are on the banks of a man made river that runs thru the COA. COA is 20 million square feet and includes the world's biggest mall, the Mall of Arabia which is set to be 9 or 10 million square feet. The Dubai Mall which claims to be the biggest, is only 3.2 million square feet. Guys, this mall is so big, it has its own planned monorail.

By the way, the Wadi Tower pic looks hideous only because its a sad pic. The actual rendering on hi-res looks lovely. Will post it as soon as I can.

As requested:
City of Arabia will have 35 buildings. They're all part of the Elite Towers complex being built inside the City. Of these, 4 are 60 storeys mixed use, 10 are residential 30 storeys, and the remaining are 45 storey mixed use towers.

The render which you saw of a blue building is the first office tower called IMG Tower 1. This is 45 storeys and is quite majestic if you see the actual plans and 3d rendered images from Galadari's office.

I'm not sure how to upload an image here, any help? I've got both rendered images.

That's a lot of towers, but again, would ppl need that much in Dubailand, they'll be vacant for a while after they're opened until they can fill em all.

There's no spire in the residential towers (Wadi towers). The Spires are only in the office towers. Oh by the way, just got wind that there may be a change in the elevation of the office towers, and according to them they say its going to be better!

Apparently they're redoing the designs of the Wadi Residence Towers. Its just on the discussion board right now but lets see. I'm not sure what's going to happen since their internal workings are sooooo disorganized!

Is anyone here who has invested in WadiTower? Has construction here already started or are they still busy with the infrastructure??? In my sales contract is written "Anticipated Completion Date 31March 2008§". I guess there will be at least a delay of one year, am i right??? :nuts:

I also heared that the remaining projects in CITY oF ARABIA will only be available for sale via invitation... Is that correct? It would mean basically that my investment has a good starting position at least :)

I have interest to this question too. I am interested in metro tower, but the very long delay and the risks of oversupply and personal problems stopped me.

i just came back from my Trip to Dubai. With regards to the WADI TOWER in City of Arabia I can update you with the following:

I went to Capricon Tower and spoke to the people over there personally:

1) What is the current (3.10.07) square feet price in CoA in Wadi Tower? Answer: 968 AED per sqfeet (25th floor)
2) Is construction right on schedule? Answer: NO! Anticpated completion Date is now June 2009 !!! This is a delay of 1Year and 3Month !!! I said: Sorry, I am definitely NOT happy with that progress and so I asked for compensation. The lady I spoked too was very reasonably and directly offered me an adjusted payment schedule. The point is that I have already paid 55% of the total amount and now there are only 45% to go. Actually there are even only 20% to go because the last 25% are due on Completion Date! Due to that I DO NOT WANT AN ADJUSTED PAYMENT PLAN, thats what I also told her. She was a little bit confused and that I should contact her again when I know what I want instead.. The point is also that if I would agree to the adjusted payment schedule I am no more longer entitled for other compensations. So i would rather claim for a free furniture package or something comparable... What would you recommend for me to do now???

A few days back I got this letter from Galadari:

We, City of Arabia, are proud to be associated with you as our valued customer. It is your confidence and interest that has kept the City of Arabia flag flying high and it is always our principle that those who have confidence in us will never be let down. Our project is progressing very well and most of the infrastructure work has been completed. We have learnt from the experience of other builders who have built buildings that cannot be occupied as the infrastructure is taken up at the end. We have done the reserves so that when the building is ready, you are ready to move in. We have already appointed piling and shoring contractors for your building and bids from civil contractors are being evaluated.
Due to unavoidable circumstances beyond our control such as Municipality approval, RTA approval and other changes in the Master Plan, based on actual technical input, has delayed our project for the extent of few months. We the developers of City of Arabia know how your investment is affected due to this unavoidable delay. In consideration of this we have decided to postpone your payment and are enclosing a revised schedule. If everything goes well, it is our hope and whish that the City of Arabia and your building will be ready to move before the end of 2009.
We take this opportunity to thank you for your interest and participation in our development and apologize to you for the unavoidable delay.

So far so good. That the project is delayed I was aware of but now they want me to sign a contract with new completion dates. I bought in June 2006 and the Wadi Tower was supposed to be ready by 2008. I already paid 55% and i am not planning to sign the new contract just like that because than i have no rights for any compensations. My question to you all now: What would you recommend me to do??? How do I have to proceed now and what can I say to them?

to dayfox i see you found the update rera report and pictures of wadi tower and i&m tower on another forum they have been on reras site for a few months. they are old pictures and both towers are well more advanced than those pictures i am leaving dubai tomorrow and will return middle of july for good,i expect to see progress on the building of wadi towers floors,wadi tower will be the first built but there will be no way it will be finished end of 2010 when i return in july i will take photos and post them on this site and update people about what is going on in city of arabia not like some people on these sites who have no idea and guess that things are on hold what i report will be up to date and not speculation. I invested in wadi tower early 2005 and at times thought i had lost my investment but am now 100% sure it will be built.

I have received an update today from Galadari. The pictures are already a few weeks old. The reason for their late reply they explained that Mrs. Shubha has sudden demised..?! This was the women I was in contact before all the time.
Its a power point presentation and I dont know how to extract the pictures from there. I will send it to Imre and kindly ask to upload them here.
Maybe someone can check the site now again so that we can compare progress?!!

I have been wondering why they spend so much effort on getting this tower up. I thought City of Arabia was completely dead until work suddenly began full scale on this specific tower. I live in the Villa and have direct view to the tower. The site have been very busy since october. I noticed that everything usually is lit up at night. Last night around 12 midnight I watched the big crane moving. It's been a while since I saw that happening in Dubailand…

I suppose you can draw an analogy with the CoA Developers who are also a family (Galadari) and the way they have risibly mismanaged the CoA project. Of course the analogy only goes so far because unlike Del Boy from the TV series, the Galadaris are "in sweet" with the "Old Bill" and are free to "sell a pup" with impunity to the foreign suckers.

Congratulations to the "Big G's" for keeping the show on the road. The project has not been cancelled and it staggers on in comical fashion. As an impartial observer, I cannot wait for the next installment.

I know it's the end of the year and you might be busy with too many different things. But this is one of the important steps we need to take. We hold on to the petition till the end of December 2011 and plan to submit it to the UAE authorities beginning 2012. We've tracked down the related governmental and private authorities and organizations and will contact them one by one. If we don't receive proper responses from the authorities or IMG wasn't willing to refund our investments after all; we'll commence trying our other alternatives.

IMG should know that after this juncture and if we set our feet on this way; things are going to happen very fast and an ominous storm is expected on their business sky. We’re not going to BACK DOWN! They simply and from the beginning should expect that we were not going to just sit and let them take our life savings!, even if we had to write to the whole world.

At the time being, I'm seeking advices of several major Medias in the UK, US and Dubai to see how we can draw media attentions to our problems. On the other hand, I've been contacted by a very famous online news agency for a possible interview some time in Jan. 2012. They want to hear our story and to publish it worldwide.

Before that interview to be held, I needed to consult with you first. Likewise, I should update myself with the pertinent information of the different projects in the CoA. I know everything about Metro Tower as well as my original SPA and the addendum IMG sent me afterwards. But need to receive precise info about the current situations of the other investors; the investors, who have purchased properties at Wadi Walk, Wadi Tower & I&M Tower as well as MED's projects.
