A neo-Romantic building of 1913 built near the old synagogue. The building is of central type with main dome, and inspired Byzantine and Oriental architecture, with applied modern iron-concrete constructions. Construction was carried out by a construction firm in Trencin, Niegreisz and Fuchs. Reconstruction of the monument took place in 1974 – 1984. After the reconstruction works, the central space under the dome has served as an exhibition hall.

ok, here is little bit of history :)
Was erected at the place of the late primeval and early medieval settlement. For the security reasons the rock elevated plateau became a place for the construction of a powerful feudal seat that soon dominated a wide territory. A stone castle had been at this place as early as in the 11th century, when the residential watchtower was built. Since the 13th century more premises and palaces have been added to the core object of the castle: the Matúšov palace, the 1udovít palace, the Barbora palace, and the Zápo3ský palace. A colossal fortification system is the result of a gradual improvement by the fortification builder. Since its beginning, the castle was an important border fortress and a seat of the district. It was owned by important royal and gentry families, of which the most famous was Matúš Eák of Treneín. After his death in 1321 the castle was taken over by the king Karol Róbert, during whose reign the castle became a center of negotiations regarding international political issues. Next rulers and lords such as 1udovít Ve3ký, Žigmund of Luxembourg, Štefan and Jan Zápo3ský, further contributed to its development. In 1600, the Ilešházi family became owners of the castle. Since 1663 a German garrison was living at the castle, until 1782. The plans of Ján Ilešházi to renovate the castle failed, as the castle was destroyed by fire in 1790. More intense reconstruction works began in 1956 and have continued until this day. At present, the Treneín castle represents a preserved national cultural heritage, administered by the Treneín museum. The museum, out of its own collections, is gradually installing historic expositions at the castle.
The Barbara palace and the Cannon bastion serve to hold occasional exhibitions. Exposition of old cold and shooting weapons of the 13th – 19th centuries is installed at the 1udovít palace. Here can be found gothic swords, oriental yatagans, sabers, palases (cavalry swords) and halberds. The shooting weapons include flintlock and percussion shotguns, hunting weapons, revolvers, muzzleloaders and breechloaders. The most pompous and complete is a historically and artistically interesting exposition of the family gallery of the Ilešházis, together with drawings of their residences, situated at the Zápo3ský palace. The exposition contains almost 100 oil paintings of the 16th – 19th centuries. The 1udovít palace also holds an exposition of the present Slovak heraldic production. A smaller collection of artifacts connected with the castle’s well is found at the court’s place and Starving tower hosts an exposition of feudal justice. The Summer tower at the upper castle hosts an exposition of the early years of Skalka pri Treneíne.
Of the castle’s well, 79,2 meters deep, the story of Omar and Fatima is said: Štefan Zápo3ský after his victorious battle with the Turks brought back with him a Turkish hostage Fatima as a gift for his wife. Fatima’s fiancé Omar, upon learning where his love was, came to ransom her with great riches. Of no avail were all his pleadings and gifts. The lord of the castle was adamant: ”I don’t take back what I have given as gift. And the riches? Those have I plenty!” The kneeling Omar asked is desperation: “And what is it that you have not!?” “I have everything”, was the answer. Immediately; however, an idea came to his mind: “Water have I not!” Omar, taking his last chance, asked: “And if I make this rock give out water, will you let Fatima go with me?” The lord nodded in agreement. After three years the Turks finally dag through to the water, Omar took of it and having poured it into a golden cup, gave it to Zapozsky saying: „ Here, the water! But harder than that rock was your heart.”
