nukey April 23rd, 2007, 12:24 PM Ive said it before and il say it again: Paris ROCKS! Such great sculptures made from what are usualy just bland Corporate behemoths... La Defense is realy great, and is getting so much better! Lucky Parisians...
SkyLerm April 23rd, 2007, 05:45 PM Nice scrapers for Paris and LD :)

The curve of T1 is really superb !
Granite grows quickly too ! :)
giovani kun April 29th, 2007, 04:03 PM Indeed those are nice towers..but we should be carefull what we build in our towns...bad projects..are not to be allowed...they might ruin the city prestigios name.......next year I'll visit Paris..:)..hope it'll look nice...
Minato ku April 29th, 2007, 04:14 PM ^^ Govani kun Paris is actually the second european city with the most high-rises over 90m after Moscow. 113 high rises over 90m, a lot of them are ugly and Paris is always for the majority tourst the most beautiful city in the world.
Those high-rises are located in inner Paris.

Dommage que cette photo soit un photo-montage! Au premier plan c'est la terrasse du chateau de St Germain en Laye or depuis cette endroit ont ne voit pas aussi bien la Défense...
Desolé

Chrispic May 26th, 2007, 02:14 AM Thank you steph35, one of the best update of these towers :)
T1 looks so high now, and the top looks good, can't wait to see the "cap".
Granite is just.... So sexy cladding, so powerfull, can't wait to see
the top in bevel!
SkyLerm May 26th, 2007, 02:19 PM Granite's cladding is so colorfull in a sense, it's great, i just hope it wouldn't hide SG too much...

Sentient Seas May 31st, 2007, 08:55 AM Some awesome photos, thanks for posting them guys, it is much appreciated.
I love the style of this architecture, it's simple somewhat, but stunning.
Mplsuptown May 31st, 2007, 04:28 PM I love the buildings and such but damn I wish that plaza had some more color/life to it. I never seem to see any banners or flowers on it. Just seems so barren.

SkyLerm June 6th, 2007, 11:12 AM Is T1 toped out?
Not yet, still some works left to have the building topped out, I guess it'll be a metalic structure up there.
bnmaddict June 6th, 2007, 11:33 AM ^^ Yep, T1 should be 20 to 25m higher than it is now when they will install its metallic "crown"! :)
SkyLerm June 6th, 2007, 11:57 AM So T1 is now 160m high more/less, nice :)

BMXican June 7th, 2007, 04:48 PM T1 is great, but granite isn't my cup of tea - don't like the cladding at all. havinf said that ... T1's cladding isn't special either, but the shape of the building is pretty cool.
Minato ku June 7th, 2007, 04:59 PM The cladding has provisional plastic film
This is the cladding without the plastic film. It is a lot better

giovani kun June 10th, 2007, 12:41 PM I love the pictures :) Paris will loook awsome
Minato ku June 10th, 2007, 12:41 PM Nope it is 165m with one bonus :D
but like spire it is include with the structure.

SkyLerm June 17th, 2007, 11:38 AM Both look pretty good! superb claddings of course, but i just don't like Granite's location, it almost hides SG
Densaga June 17th, 2007, 01:46 PM Hide ? How could it hide the SG ? Granite is behind .
SkyLerm June 17th, 2007, 09:05 PM If you look just from the other side, Granite hides SG, they're very close each other.
Densaga June 18th, 2007, 12:19 AM Meanwhile , you never look from this side , there is absolutely nothing (cemetery)

Manuel July 13th, 2007, 05:15 PM Such a shame the cladding is so poor! the massing was quite interesting :)
brisavoine July 18th, 2007, 07:20 PM After checking on the architect plans, I discovered the height of T1 Tower is in fact 187,5 meters (615 ft) and not 185 meters. 185 meters is the height from the concrete slab, whereas 187,5 meters is the actual height from street level. Someone should correct the title of the thread. Also, T1 Tower has 39 floors in total.

Chrispic August 19th, 2007, 01:51 AM Hi! Here is 3 small photos taken on last August 13 from the roof of the Triumphal Arch in Paris. I was never gone to the Triumphal Arch, the view is superb

SkyLerm August 19th, 2007, 12:53 PM I have never been on that roof! I'm jealous, i wanna go there! :gaah:
What a density on right side of LD
eklips August 19th, 2007, 01:17 PM You are right, the right is much more dense than the left, a bit too much in my opinion, and most of the new proposed/aproved towers are on the right as well :(.
Hopefully, if the two PB22 towers get built it'll even out a bit.
By the way, merci pour les photos Chrispic
Minato ku August 19th, 2007, 01:26 PM It is not the same municpality, at the right Courbevoie and at the left Puteaux.
I can say without doubt that Courbevoie is more pro skyscraper than Puteaux. :)
SkyLerm August 19th, 2007, 01:59 PM Even +300m projects are in Courbevoie, c'est dommage!
EDIT: (?) T1's crown will finally be cladded? Now seems a bit naked...

Thanks Densaga. ^^
Newcastle Guy August 27th, 2007, 12:26 AM Sadly neither of these have turned out as good as the renders, they are just so... dark in comparison with what was promised. Dark isn't always bad, but that lovely light cladding we saw in the renders would have looked much beter on the La Defense skyline imo.
Densaga August 27th, 2007, 12:39 AM For the great majority of people :
Granite is better than in the renders
T1 is the contrary .
ur speaking about T1 Newcastle Guy , isn'it ?
Minuteman August 27th, 2007, 12:45 AM I agree.
Granite's cladding matches renders and is very nice, but T1's one *is* a very big disappointment.

colemonkee September 24th, 2007, 08:27 PM Will the crown of T1 eventually have glass? Or some kind of screen?
AMS guy September 25th, 2007, 05:11 PM ^^ I would like to know it too, because the crown as it looks now, is a big disappointment.
MasonicStage™ September 25th, 2007, 05:28 PM great updates...tower looks awesome. :)
DAMN I m good September 25th, 2007, 06:02 PM hope I ll go to paris soon !!!
chjbolton September 25th, 2007, 06:09 PM Unfortunately, T1 appears to be completed.:ohno:
Densaga September 26th, 2007, 02:05 AM Yeah , T1's crown is a big disappointment for everybody , even for those who live in paris .
However , we have to wait few months until the tower would be entirely completed to judge . For example , they are now removing cladding protection and its a lot better .
And Granite is simply superb.
Phobos September 26th, 2007, 03:39 PM T1's top is a big deception. The overall shape is quite good and elegant, but that top is too naked.

Newcastle Guy October 18th, 2007, 05:37 PM Should be nice seeing the effect this has on the cluster when viewed from the Eiffel Tower when I go to Paris next month. I expect the curve gives La Defense more of an edge lol:)
chjbolton October 18th, 2007, 11:14 PM Well, unfortunately you won't see much from the Eiffel Tower; T1 is pretty much hidden by Total and/or Areva from up there. But you certainly will enjoy the curve from the Arc de Triomphe.
Great pics! Love the tiny guy hung half way down the Grande Arche working on the tiles or whatever. :)
Newcastle Guy October 19th, 2007, 06:48 PM Oh yes, hope I get to see the Arc again. I'm going with a group from school though, so I won't get to choose where we go. I hope it's been snowing, I'm actually going in December. Snowy Paris with all the Christmas lights would be fantastic!
Skyscrapercitizen October 19th, 2007, 09:20 PM This one has become really cool!
AMS guy October 19th, 2007, 10:54 PM I think I'd prefer it without this empty crown. I know, I know... almost everyone complains about the crown, so my aim is not to make it any worse here. Just wanted to say that to me the problem is not the fact that the crown is empty. The tower looks weird probably because the colour and steal structure at the top don't suit the rest of the building. The top hardly looks like an integral part of it. Well, its form does, but not the material and colour of it.
Newcastle Guy October 20th, 2007, 12:49 AM I think we should wait until it is completed to judge it. I expect it will look better then.

Granite is nearly done now and it is beautiful. T1 is a bit disappointing but Granite is great and fits perfectly behind the SG Twin Towers.
The white tower near T1 is Tour Egée (155m - 509ft - 40 floors)
