Duckzilla, it might be good to add BiH when your refering to RS. Most people confuse it with SiCG and/or have no idea what RS is.

I agree. This town is, in my view, pretty damn far from being charming. Sorry, but there's really nothing special about it...

Emirho/Spotless Mind, I don't think it's necessary, we all know that Serb Republic makes Bosnia and Herzegovina. I mean this is Eastern Europe forum. And yes, nice pictures of Босна и Херцеговина.
Boycie/Salvius, I don't think it's charming neither ;) The only good thing in it is Sava river and the fact it's close to Banja Luka, Zagreb and Belgrade (since it's on Zagreb-Belgrade highway. But it's calm little town which has some nice things to see, nothing special, but cute.
Yugoboy, is it better from Teslić? :D

If some Montenegrin would write 'Bar, southest city of Montenegro', would other be confused? No...so the point is not about Serb Republic becose we all know what that is and where it is.

^yes but how many people outside the EE know that the Serb Republic isn't the same thing as Serbia and Montenegro. And how many know that there is a Serb Republic in BiH?
I mean, you're free to call it what you want, but it would be better to include the country's name not to confuse some ;)

If you all actually think that everybody visiting this board is up to date with the situation or even knows what a 'RS' is, than you're out of your minds. Or should I call it wishfull thinking..... gr gr
It was just a suggestion, suit yourself. :p

Its funny to see how bosnjaks are trying very hard to keep BiH together and stable. I wouldn't be so optomistic of the union, when RS separates which is likely, then and only then u will feel the pain every true yugoslav felt when u decided to separate.

Ok, well I have to disagree with you here.
#1. It is illegal for the Republika Srpska to seperate because if it does it is breaking the Dayton agreement which validated it's existance in the first place. So once that is out the window, it's possible for the RS to disappear completely (and it would).
#2. Oh, so you felt the pain when Bosnia seperated from Yugoslavia? How about when Milosevic wanted to change the method of representation to give Serbs greater power? How about when the double headed eagle replaced the communist star in the flag in the Croatian war? How about when the "Yugoslavian" government gave Slovenia up basically without a fight? I'm sorry but Yugoslavia was dead long before Bosnia left, because what Bosnia left was no longer Yugoslavia.
Bosnia and Herzegovina can be everything Yugoslavia was and more. With it's diversity and ethnic tolerance Bosnia was ten times more of a "Yugoslavia" then the rotting Velika Srbija corpse we abandonned. If you truly cared about the peace and tolerance that Yugoslavia represented you'd have been happy that we had left a country that would have been ruled by radicals like Milosevic and Karadzic and been Yugoslavia only in name.

You say I don't understand the situation? Please, I'm studying political science while you're listening to propoganda tv and learning from your nationalist parents.
Ledeni, i agree with u fully Milosevis is the worst thing that happen to Yugoslavia but the regime wouldn't have lasted long and besides the Yugoslav tension was encourages by the capitalist pigs. You say how Milosevic wanted to change the representation to give Serbs more power, well who has more power now in BiH serbs or muslims? Ledeni there will never be ethnic equality in BiH simply because the gov is too corrupt and because the intellectuals have fled (the real city people).

Well done for trolling the Gradiska thread.
The reality is that neither the Serbs nor the Croats want to live with the muslems/bosniaks or whatever you call them. The reasons are too many to discuss but this isn't unique to former Yugoslavia.
The Serbian Republic exists and more and more people are getting aquainted with it. Jahorina ski resort is an example.
Reviewed by: Alex Bailey, Advanced, from New York City
Summary:
I decided last Christmas after 12 years of absence to book my ski vacation at Jahorina mountain. Jahorina is part of Republic of Srpska, Serbian part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The local population is very proud of Republic of Srpska's existence. Christmas period 2002. No, or very little snow in Central and Western Europe. However, enough snow at Jahorina mountain not to disappoint a spoiled American tourist. I was surprised to see large numbers of tourists from Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, especially considering recent violent history in the region. I only can recommend this region for your next ski vacation. The slopes were well groomed, the people very friendly, and the whole package affordable.

Summary:
This is indeed the best place where nature is still preserved and wonderful!
So, you must go there, NOW!!!! Remember the Olympics (Winter Olympic Games 1984)!
