Nationality Rooms
Between 1938 and 1999, 26 classrooms, each representing a different cultural heritage, have been constructed within the Cathedral of Learning. From China to Italy, from India to England, each classroom represents the beauty and heritage of a particular country—and the intercultural ties that the descendents of those cultures, now living in America, continue to cherish.

Does anyone from Pittsburgh know why there is plywood in the windows above the entrance to the Cathedral of Learning?

Also, is the odd modern building with the church tower attached at the corner of Dithridge and Fifth? It looks like it is. If so, when did they rip down the church?

Beautiful shot of Heinz Chapel and Mellon Institute. Also, CMU - while at an odd angle - looks nice. Interesting pictures.

I really have to go to Pittsburgh. The Cathedral of Learning is undoubtedly the most beautiful building in the world (after the cathedral of Antwerp :-p)!

Awesome pics! I am actually considering transferring to the University of Pittsburgh. I'm not sure yet though.

I heard the Cathedral of Learning is the tallest building on a university campus in the world.
