The shopping mall and office building started in 2004,the company want lease the 50 thousand sq.m shopping mall first, so they have enough money to finish whole project, the 375m office building's groundwork just be completed. Now, a department store called Xinguangsanyue may hire the shopping mall.

You're saying that they're still doing groundwork like digging the hole and shoring up a foundation? I think any progress is a good thing.
Also you're saying that they want to build the roof up to 450 meters? I'm not sure what the mast they're going to use is for but I hope they're not going to just add a useless spire on top of this. It would be a dream come true if they raised the roof to 500m and kept the design as a flat top building like we've seen in previous models and renders.

Incpart April 4th, 2006, 09:19 AM This cannot be a real picture. I visited Chongqing in october 2005 and the project was only 6 floors high. As I was told, they were going to destruct it all due to a structural error in the design and restart construction. This building won't be finished soon.

To be honest this is my #1 favorite building that's under construction right now. I love the color and it's unique design at the top for a rectangular building.

but add a spire on a boxy skyscraper its too ugly ,so they give up spire

they enlarge the department store,LVMH.
FM 2258 July 9th, 2006, 02:19 AM they enlarge the department store,LVMH.
I think it's good that they're enlarging it but it looks like a complete mess right now.
Is the tower supposed to be the tallest in Chongqing when it's completed? The WTCC looks taller in that last model you posted. I also agree that adding a spire would make this thing look ugly.

Muse October 26th, 2006, 11:27 PM It says "plan". I'm sure we would have known about it by now if it were u/c.
...but geezah! What a unique looking project. Not just because of the green aspect, but overall!

Yes amazing plan indeed. But i dont like that bright green, too much contrast with the orange/yellow colour of the rest of the skyline.

z0rg March 25th, 2007, 01:50 AM The height of this project has been officially raised to 398m, same height as Jialing Fanying project. Some mod please edit the title.
No updates, sorry. I think they stopped the works due to the height increase.
FM 2258 March 25th, 2007, 02:08 AM ^^
That's awesome!!!!!
z0rg March 25th, 2007, 02:21 AM New proposed design, 398m!! Final design is not decided, only the height.

ZZ-II March 25th, 2007, 11:47 AM 2 meters more.....:sleepy:
gaoanyu March 25th, 2007, 03:51 PM I don't know. It's really boxy, and I like boxy.
But I kinda feel strange about having a hotel as the tallest.
macpolo March 25th, 2007, 04:09 PM its not a hotel
jw marriott hotel is already built for almost 10 years, its the shorter tower aside
marriott center is a office tower
FastFerrari April 13th, 2007, 11:56 PM nice pics Macpolo....never knew Chongqing could rival HK in terms of light show from downtown buildings...NICE
Sentient Seas April 14th, 2007, 06:31 AM Nice building. The top looks interesting...

ZZ-II April 29th, 2007, 02:55 PM have they changed the design?
Krattle April 29th, 2007, 03:03 PM Does anyone notice that the builidings in the renders on the previous page are just direct copies of other buildings? One of them looks just like ICC and the other like the New York Times tower currently UC in NYC.
Krattle April 29th, 2007, 03:04 PM http://files.photojerk.com/macpolo/lzt/3.jpg
Don't they, or am I just seeing things?
giovani kun April 29th, 2007, 03:43 PM I like it...the town look impresive...that's what i want to see in each town...quality...and good project..:)

yes,we made that, just for some fun
macpolo April 29th, 2007, 04:01 PM have they changed the design?
these 4 pix above your post is the new design
ZZ-II April 29th, 2007, 04:18 PM is it taller now or still the same height?
macpolo April 29th, 2007, 05:44 PM is it taller now or still the same height?
398m now
but they r still changing something
so this project is on hold

It's so sad they changed the design, this one looked perfect to me. :( :( :(
macpolo April 29th, 2007, 07:05 PM http://files.photojerk.com/macpolo/mc3.jpg
honestly i dont like the top
but i do think the cladding and the department store r so much better now
z0rg April 29th, 2007, 08:48 PM They ruined it. The 377m project looked great with that sexy green cladding, even despite of being just a box. New facade looks ugly to me.
Maybe I'll change my mind after seeing more realistic renders.
