Blinky, I drove by the Quicksilver store, the Diesel, Versace, Armani, Betsy Johnson (if you have a girlfriend or you are "into that") and the Mosh Pit store, presumably for the rock and rollers that dig Blink 182!!! These stores are all within 15 blocks of Chez Roark...you'd love it here...don't start hatin' :) VansTripp March 6th, 2005, 03:36 AM Blinky...I was thinking about you tonight as I went out for printer paper...it was such a beautiful evening that I drove and looped around South Beach knowing full well that I'd be stuck in Saturday night traffic (in South Beach, the street scenes are 10 x's better than anything on cable). Roark March 6th, 2005, 03:54 AM ROFL. I thought Miami has more rock/punk on nation, maybe not sure.Ummmmm....no. Not unless the KC & the Sunshine Band, the Bee Gees, Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, and Pit Bull are considered punk... nimbyhater March 7th, 2005, 07:04 PM like ive said b4, miami's rock scene is greatly underappreciated and much larger than you would think... theyre shows all the time all over miami on weekends, but theyre just not known about outside of the rock circle if you will... this leads to the fact that few people know about it, and there is little support for it (ie the shops you talk about, places shows can be done, and so on)... as a result most shows and stuff are done at people's house and the few small stores there are, and churches and stuff miami's skateboarding scene is much the same... very underappreciated, and as a result we have some of the fewest parks in the country... we were dealt a real blow when they rejected building the sports park under I-95 in preparation for the x-games, which i believe if miami doesnt get this two years, it will get the next time... but this scene, like the rock scene is gettin alot better, and i know of two new parks in the works as well as several new shops being opened, one owned by a friend of mine... its not great rite now... but give it a few years blink on the topic of kendall... its a great suburb of miami, which will, like everything else in miami... b alot greater in a few years... the amount of urban developement going on is great and it will soon be one of miamis hottest places... there are several threads about kendall and the dadeland area (which is part of kendall) all over the miami forum... ill try and get you links to a few of em and re post some of the pictures in em |
