I've been out of the country too long. I'm just wondering, who are the popular artists in Indonesia right now?

Ok, let me rephrase the question:

(1) Who is the top 5 most popular male singers in Indonesia?
(2) Same as above, except for female.

I haven't been living in Indonesia in the last 8 years, but I think I'm more up to date with Indo pop than you. so here's a list of popular singers/bands that I know on top of my head..:

male bands: Peterpan, Dewa, Sheila on 7

male singers: Glenn Fredly, Marcell

female singers: Kris Dayanti, Agnes Monica, Melly G,

What ever happen to Padi? I loved that band. Saw them live when Saving Ferris in Jakarta. They were really really good.

they still exist ..still quite popular. but the band-to-beat right now is Peterpan...

Padi and Dewa both sang good songs, i quite like them. Peterpan on the other hand, I find them just somewhere about average.

I like Padi, Dewa, Ahmad Band (it's only a project in my opinion) then /rif. They have good songs. Besides, there are tons of Indies band from Bandung, they're good as well

The same here i don t know too but i like Ruth Sahanaya , Kris Dayanti and a matter of fact I went to a concert of Kris Dayanti when I was in Jakarta and I loved it. :)

Both Ruth Sahanaya and Kris Dayanti are Indonesian senior musician. Even though it's not type of music I like but I must say they are really successful.

New Indonesian bands bring more and fresher blood to our music industry. And a lot of them are good

in terms of looks, I would say that Agnes Monica is by far the prettiest out of all singers...
