Chad October 2nd, 2009, 09:12 AM Renaissance re-positions with a Global Portfolio of Lifestyle Hotels The Renaissance new logo http://www.hospitalitynet.org/picture/153004335.jpg Paris and New York Openings Launch Brand’s New Look and Feel The debut of two new hotels in two iconic cities – the Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe and the Renaissance New York Hotel 57 – are charting a bold new image for the Renaissance Hotels & Resorts global lifestyle brand. “With more than a $2 billion infusion in hotel renovations by our owners and franchisees and a new brand team in place, Renaissance is now positioned to be the first truly global lifestyle brand in the Marriott portfolio,” said Tina Edmundson, senior vice president lifestyle brands and Renaissance operations. The breakthrough simultaneous launch event today in Paris and New York will feature live performances by cutting-edge British singer/songwr iter Mr. Hudson in New York and indie rocker Santigold in Paris. “This incredible celebration and these artists speak to the Renaissance brand’s deep belief in helping guests discover moments that transcend the every day,” said Edmundson. The Renaissance experience and its new modern brand identity launches today with these two events and a brand new web portal for the collection of 140 gems in 28 countries around the world. The new website, www.renaissancehotels.com, uses storytelling and experiential packages and promotions celebrating the uniqueness and rich travel experiences at each hotel and location. “The Renaissance experience appeals to guests who want to discover something new with each and every stay. Our guests are current and in-the-know. They are passionate about travel, architecture and history, and they want a hotel experience that allows them to get the most from a trip--to discover the unique character of their destination,” said Edmundson. New brand elements include: New hotels: Every stay offers guests a unique point of view and different perspective, whether at one of Renaissance’s historic icons or ultra-modern hotels. Renaissance Hotels & Resorts continues to add to its portfolio with a pipeline of 24 hotels opening over the next three years. These properties include the Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel, the Renaissance Malmo Hotel in Sweden, the Renaissance Doha City Center Hotel in United Arab Emirates, the Renaissance St. Pancras Hotel in London and the Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel in Thailand. New visual identity: The Renaissance Hotels & Resorts identity, including the logo, has dramatically changed, providing new visual cues to bring the brand in line with the updated hotel experience. The new visual identity of the brand is modern and simple and the new logo represents a cleaner more modern typography, while keeping the "R" icon as a singular nod to the historical side of the brand. RenaissanceHotels.com: The new Renaissance Hotels & Resorts web portal is now not only visually striking but offers a robust Renaissance experience for guests encouraging discovery about both the destination and hotel. Renaissance Chic: The Renaissance design point of view is current, compelling and always inspiring. From imaginative menus to eye-catching décor to luxurious cotton-rich linens, it is all about stimulating the senses. New retail strategy: The new www.CollectRenaissance.com will launch this fall allowing guests to take Renaissance style home. New food & beverage strategy: Restaurants at Renaissance are developed to appeal to local clientele as well as guests. Our hotels deliver “indigenous” food & beverage, offering quintessentially local food at the hotels. New partnerships: Renaissance has strategically aligned itself with like-minded brands including the new car-share program Hertz Connect, Absolut Vodka, Jack Spade and Strida Bike. As part of the celebration, Renaissance New York Hotel 57 and Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe are also hosting a silent auction to benefit Kiva.org, a non-profit organization that is the world's first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend directly to unique entrepreneurs around the globe. Kiva's mission is to connect people through lending for the sake of alleviating poverty. The silent auction attempts to honor Renaissance Hotel 57's origins as a hotel for women and later as a shelter for women by benefiting Kiva.org, whose entrepreneur base is 83% women working to pull their families out of poverty. Invited guests in New York City will be able to bid on an incredible Renaissance discovery package -- New Year's Eve in New York City including 3 night stay at the Renaissance New York Hotel Times Square plus front row seats to the festivities in Times Square at Two Times Square restaurant and Renaissance partner offerings including Strida foldable bikes and Connect by Hertz weekend getaway cars. In Paris, invited guests will be able to bid on an incredible weekend getaway at the Renaissance Paris Arc de Triomphe including 2 night stay and tasting experience at the hotel’s restaurant Makassar. ranchboy October 2nd, 2009, 08:35 PM Give me the bassline and I'll shake it · Give me a record and I'll break it . jane_jud October 4th, 2009, 06:08 AM สวยดีครับ ไว้มีโอกาส คงได้ลองพักดู maracus November 19th, 2009, 10:01 PM http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/9537/dsc0832m.jpg Car L December 15th, 2009, 01:19 PM http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/Genuine007/UCmisc/091211_001a.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/Genuine007/UCmisc/091211_002s.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/Genuine007/UCmisc/091211_014s.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/Genuine007/UCmisc/091211_015s.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/Genuine007/UCmisc/091211_004s.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/Genuine007/UCmisc/091211_017s.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/Genuine007/UCmisc/091210_049s.jpg __________________ Buildings that don't get posted often (HK) Part I (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=211362) or here ( http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=209576) | Part II (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=212436) or here (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=212435) | Part III (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=316338) | Part IV (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=366314) | Part V (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?p=13282175) Artistic decorations inside and outside of the buildings (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=319077) Speed December 15th, 2009, 03:28 PM thanks Car L :okay: this hotel is opening January 2010 :dance2: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/bkkbr-renaissance-bangkok-ratchaprasong/ Hotel Details 22 floors, 275 rooms, 58 suites 14 meeting rooms, 19,999 sq ft of total meeting space 1 concierge level Chad December 16th, 2009, 06:50 AM It looks vibrant. :) Mr.donut December 16th, 2009, 02:59 PM สวยครับ : ) Mosaic December 16th, 2009, 06:01 PM Add more color to the skyline! annamaria4711 December 16th, 2009, 11:41 PM it STILL looks UGLY Chad December 17th, 2009, 06:16 PM IMO it doesnt :) Ch'HWA December 18th, 2009, 08:01 PM เหมือนต่างประเทศเลยครับ Speed January 7th, 2010, 11:40 AM rooms at Renaissance Hotel in this blue glass building can be booked starting from January 23 :okay: might be fun for a weekend Bangkok "staycation" Speed January 18th, 2010, 06:50 PM giant Renaissance R put on top of the building already maracus January 22nd, 2010, 01:01 PM http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/8805/dsc8157.jpg cookanomics January 22nd, 2010, 02:51 PM looks more like an office building Chad January 22nd, 2010, 02:56 PM Fantastic lighting at the pool level I can see. The same building also houses additional floors of private condo residences that are not connected to the hotel and located on floors above the pool's floor. The Renaissance Bangkok is a beautiful Design hotel with all the amenities a 5 star property has to offer. You instantly feel its modern vibes as you enter: the lighting, décor, furnishings, smells and the tunes. Even its elevators are spiffy with leather-bound walls, computer screens and cool ambient music. Yet the most distinct feature throughout the hotel is the Cassia Fistula motif, Thailand’s national flower. This is a great property and I highly recommend it. We paid less than $100/night (THB 2,950 ai) and as a Marriott Rewards Gold tier member, we got an upgrade to a Renaissance Suite, access to the lounge, breakfast at buffet downstairs, laundry, etc. Booked for 3 nights and checked in on the afternoon of 11/29/2010, and we had a 4 PM late checkout. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/5223999480/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/4350111311/ Room: The Renaissance Suite has the Wow factor especially the bathroom! we were very impressed by its spacious 62 SQM size, and its colorful yet luxuriously classy furnishings. The suite features marble tiled entrance, white oak floor and blond Tanganyika wood furniture. Infused with Southeast Asian style, the suite is classically designed in warm, vibrant colors and feature oversized windows and glass enclosed bathrooms. This fantastic room was full of light with a view facing Chitlom Central. It was a great place for the family to relax with a bed area with a huge flat screen TV, sitting area and work desk with jack pack. There is also a comfortable chair with coffee table next to the huge windows. The king bed was clean and comfortable with plenty of pillows. All furnishings were of high quality wood and other materials. The floor was a mix of artfully designed rugs and wooden floors. The bathroom was impeccable with tile, glass, and marble floor and walls and separate tub and a spacious shower glass enclosure with city views. Fancy toiletries and plenty of quality towels and a baby bathroom kit were provided daily. The suite had a walk-in closet. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/5224006362/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/5224005432/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/5224003974/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/5223410327/ Service: was impeccable by front desk, housekeeping, restaurants, and lounge staff. Nightly turn down services was performed. We requested a baby cot for our toddler son and it was provided promptly. Taxi cabs were summoned when needed to the hotel’s front door. Concierge recommended going to Sanam Luang Park to observe the king’s birthday. Staff were very friendly , courteous, and responsive to all our requests especially Khun Panida at the Lounge (she used to work at the JW Marriott's lounge). http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/5223398937/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/5228482592/ Food: Breakfast was included in our room rate and we partook every morning at Flavors Restaurant on the second floor. The excellent breakfast spread was awesome and typical of breakfast buffet found at many 5-star hotels in Bangkok. We also were served teatime drinks and pastries between 3-5 PM daily, and happy hours cocktails and food at the lounge between 6-8 PM nightly. The lounge also served beverages and snacks throughout the day (6 AM - 11 PM). Great food at both outlets but for lack of time, we did not try the other restaurants (Italian and Chinese). http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/5224003056/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/5223403739/ The indoor pool is on the hotel’s top floor with awesome views of the city. The spa which is on the same floor is nice and has cozy feeling. The Spa staff is very hospitable as they served me some good warm lemongrass tea when I stopped by to review their service menu. There is also a gym with exercise machines on this top floor. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/4350863802/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/4350116829/ Location: is excellent as the Chitlom BTS station is right outside the hotel parking entrance and Siam Paragon is the next BTS station over. Also, the hotel is situated across the street from Central Chitlom and its famous “Food Loft” foodcourt mentioned in the New York Times’ Travel Section. The hotel is within walking distance to Erawan, Gaysorn, and CentralWorld. There are many shops (groceries, currency exchange booths, 7-11, Starbucks, etc.) within 2-minutes walking outside the hotel. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/5227871269/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/4350837954/ We've had well over 110 nights at the JW Marriott Bangkok in just the past few years but from now on this hotel will be our home in town … we will be back!
