crazyeight March 8th, 2005, 10:54 PM This is one of the most beautiful towers i've ever seen!
Grollo March 9th, 2005, 12:22 AM I think I would prefer a 'Dubai' tower in my city than a 'Trump' tower :-)
Dubai-Lover April 18th, 2005, 02:23 PM big big news guys
Dubai International Properties has postponed closing date to 2 May for the main construction package on the 400 metres high Dubai Tower in West Bay, set to be the tallest building in Doha
Tender documents were released in early March and prequalifiers were originally given until 11 April to bid for the contact which calls for the construction of an 80-storey tower. The mixed-use development will have a substantial podium to house retail, restaurants and entertainment facilities. Above it will be about 20 floors of office space and 60 storeys of one and two-bedroom apartments.
Nine international companies have been invited to bid for the contract.
The main contract will take 24-30 months to complete.
The project manager is the US’ Hill International.
Citystyle April 18th, 2005, 03:22 PM One really nice design, sharp. 400m
stormyouss April 18th, 2005, 04:05 PM nice one
Qatar4Ever April 18th, 2005, 04:13 PM crap !! They're acctually building it !! :/
BinDubai April 18th, 2005, 04:35 PM Congrats :)
Bikes April 18th, 2005, 09:09 PM Looks like huge crystal, very nice building!
Nightsky April 18th, 2005, 09:55 PM Awesome design! And awesome height if it really will be 400m. I don't think there are anything nearly as tall in Doha. Seems like other Middle east cities will follow the "skyscraper trend of Dubai". :)
Nightsky April 18th, 2005, 10:25 PM I forgot to ask: Why call it Dubai Towers when it is just one?
Dubai-Lover April 18th, 2005, 11:06 PM i can just give you the reason why there's "dubai" in the name
the developer is dubai international properties by dubai holding, a mega developing company from dubai
in fact there are dozens of high-rises coming up in doha. they build a completely new skyline, called west bay. there still is more in the pipeline
do you draw this tower for ssp?
Bahraini Spirit April 18th, 2005, 11:16 PM 400m is impressive I'd have to say, we'll see what DIB has in store for the other gulf countries they're planning to invest in, if they intend on building towers there. I know of other arab countries where they've invested but not to build towers.
CULWULLA April 19th, 2005, 01:28 AM now thats what i call a skyscraper! 400m? well done!
Qatar4Ever April 19th, 2005, 07:12 AM Dubai-lover i dont really think dubai holdings is building any more towers or changing the west bay skyline completely. Most of the land in the west bay has been squared in and ground work has started, so Im not sure where exactly in the west bay theyd aquire land.
Wezza April 19th, 2005, 11:14 AM Nice tower. Much nicer than Burj Dubai.
SUNNI April 19th, 2005, 11:18 AM nice tower, but ONLY 80 stories? :D
j/k
mtb_nz April 19th, 2005, 11:28 AM beautiful
Nightsky April 20th, 2005, 12:51 PM Yes, I will draw it right now!

Taufiq May 9th, 2005, 08:57 PM 445m tall!!!
:) Very nice.
Dubai-Lover May 9th, 2005, 11:22 PM doha's new skyline will look insane with this one towering above everything
so many great towers coming up there and all these artificial islands
it will be one hell of a place in a few years, the 2nd dubai for sure
Urban Dave May 9th, 2005, 11:32 PM Here is the tower:

Nice! It reminds me, somehow and with obviously differences, to Burj Al Arab.
Genç May 9th, 2005, 11:49 PM Damn, that new tower is fabulous! A true beauty
blue_warsaw May 9th, 2005, 11:51 PM awesome!

Our friend at qatar forums did this.. he's good..
Dr. Dubai September 7th, 2005, 06:12 PM 400 meters are very nice and welcom!:) I think Doha will gets a serious skyline.
Intoxication September 7th, 2005, 06:26 PM This tower will be a gr8 addition to an already gr8 skyline.
malec September 7th, 2005, 09:26 PM I think it's butt-ugly actually and way too tall. If it was 300m it would be much better because even though it would still dominate it wouldn't feel as if it were taking over the whole skyline by itsself
Dubai_Boy September 7th, 2005, 11:21 PM Woah , congrats :D
kazpmk September 8th, 2005, 12:40 AM Any UC pics out there???
Qatar4Ever September 8th, 2005, 07:13 AM No u/c pics yet, they are just breaking ground.
Males, i totally agree with you. But this pic shows the skyline as it is today. By the time this building will constructed there will be at least 4 or 50+ story towers sharing the same skyline.
Pas September 8th, 2005, 08:06 AM A clean cut minimalist look. I really like this design :)

Oh right. It'll help a lot then. Maybe it's just the renderings of this tower are ugly (not the night one, the normal ones) and it'll look better. Think of Al Fattan towers in Dubai.
some_stupid_nut September 8th, 2005, 10:07 PM They need more renderings. From that angle I dont really know how the tower looks like!
westisbest September 9th, 2005, 09:11 AM Looks ok from what i can see
AltinD September 18th, 2005, 07:48 PM The model:

dubaiflo September 18th, 2005, 08:22 PM this one is soo huge. look at the height-wide ratio!
Effer September 18th, 2005, 08:24 PM Yet another building in Dubai! :)
Bikes September 18th, 2005, 08:31 PM In Doha actually :)
smussuw September 18th, 2005, 08:32 PM Built by Dubai :)
New York Yankee September 18th, 2005, 09:09 PM wow, that's fantastic!

malec September 19th, 2005, 12:21 AM AMAZING! Simply amazing. GO dubai!
This will be built in Doha not in Dubai
CULWULLA September 19th, 2005, 12:42 AM how far is Doho from Dubai?
Dubai-Lover September 19th, 2005, 12:45 AM when driving maybe 700km
flying is 1hr, so maybe 450km
i got a brochure at this week's real estate exhibition with new and clean renders
absolutely awesome
445m and so massive
CULWULLA September 19th, 2005, 12:47 AM 700km??? gee it must going to be a landmark in Doho! what is current tallest in Doho?
so this tower will be office?
Dubai-Lover September 19th, 2005, 12:56 AM lol
it's called doha
there are hundreds of towers coming up
i try to cope with it on emporis, check it out
i know there are plenty of projects missing, but it's hard to find info
eg, the lagoon twin towers, awesome design
problem is, we don't have anybody from qatar, who is doing all the researches and site visits
Darius September 21st, 2005, 12:08 AM I wonder whether 445m is the roof height or spire height (look at the model).
malec September 21st, 2005, 12:11 AM To spire I presume.
Dubai-Lover September 21st, 2005, 12:21 AM 400m to roof and 445m to spire
spire was not included originally
Darius September 21st, 2005, 02:38 PM Exactly, that's why the drawing on SSP is wrong at the moment.
drmadham September 24th, 2005, 02:40 AM tower is AWESOME, height is cool - BUT.....
it may become an eyesore on the doha skyline - i mean it doesnt seem to fit. way too big compared to its surroundings...
The Mad Hatter!! September 24th, 2005, 03:14 AM The model:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/altind/P1000784.jpg
that has to be the sickest model i've ever seen
AltinD September 24th, 2005, 08:29 PM tower is AWESOME, height is cool - BUT.....
it may become an eyesore on the doha skyline - i mean it doesnt seem to fit. way too big compared to its surroundings...
