This thread has been moved to the Open forum as this building is not of the 200 tallest.

If anyone is in doubt, feel free to send a message to DMac or myself.

Back to the building,

8.5/10

I really like it, especially the glass and the symmetry of the design.

I want this building to be soooo much given it's relationship to Montreal's great Cathedral. It's almost there ~ forming a solid, unobtrusive back-drop to the Cathedral, but could it have been more interactive, enhancing the Cathedral????

7.5/10 (for what could've been MUCH worse! but could've been better?)

The beige/olive on the facade seems to contrast too heavily with the blue/green. Also, the building seems rather wide and fat - could do with slimming down a bit. The sloping roof is okay but nothing new.

The setbacks on the lower part of the tower look great though; reminiscent of the Empire State Building.

7/10 - At last, a little bit of imagination! The facade REALLY dances with the light (I think I added a half a point for the way it caught the sunset in that one pic, even though I know the sunset isn't an architectural feature). The contrast between trim and glass adds variety, and it even (gasp!) has a setback or two.

BUT - while I really do appreciate this effort to move beyond the flat roof, somehow the pyramid seems heavy and awkward...

8. I really like where this building was going but unfortunatly, it just didn't get there. If it been in the 270-290 metre range instead of 205m, I would have given a 10. We can thank the stupid height restriction that prevents buildings from being taller than Mount Royal for that.
