Here are some new renderings of the Kamppi project in central Helsinki. The project features an underground bus terminal next to the metro station, appartments, shopping centre, shops, offices, cafés, nightclubs, restaurants etc.

increadibly fine, it seems like a scaled (bigger) version of Viru centre, i think they are VERY similar. the busstation idea :), and http://www.kampinkeskus.fi/uploads/kuvat/trigora/palvelut_i.jpg looks like its made in Viru centre!

i just hope that your underground station doesnt suffer the same fate of viru keskus..... being infested by skaterposers and girls who only wear pink and hang out in the station all day.... every day blocking all the stores and such:D:tongue3:

In this (http://www.kampinkeskus.fi/uploads/kuvat/trigora/trigora_i.jpg) picture the architecture looks quite similar as in ''Eduskuntatalon lisärakennus'', don't you agree? Same architect or something?
Btw. will they build new stairs to Kamppi metro platform?

Nice project. From outside it looks very traditional. And atrium looks nice.
Lol, something is wrong with these signs

How exactly big is this Kampi project ?
The estimated cost is ~€200million, and it's pretty big in sheer size as well; they had to dig a hole of about 200mX100m (~20m deep) in the middle of the downtown Helsinki. Here's a pic of the main building (a mall with underground buss station and access to metro station of Kamppi):

One of the Estonian members said that the project is more or less the same size as all Tallinn projects combined, but I think he was exaggerating a "bit". :D
edit: spelling, syntax

Kamppi is definitely a lot bigger project than Viru Keskus, rather the nature of those two is similar what comes to combining shopping center, offices and underground bus station.
Finnish media has sometimes referred to this project as the Kampin keskus - koko suomen olohuone which translates somewhat as Kampin keskus - Finlands living room. That's funny when thinking about those people NOT living in Helsinki. Sadly media is often very very Helsinki orientated in focusing news issues. :)
And it's good to finally get some order back to the Helsinki center...too much chaos all the time.

Here's a picture I tried to stitch together with Autostitch, didn't turn out so well though. The picture is from last December.

Nice project! As most other Nordic projects nowdays they have a traditional modern exterior, but some very modern interior! :okay:

Yep, I don't praise the facade design, but even though I'm not a big shopping mall fan, I think Kamppi is pretty cool. I really surprised when I entered it first time.
And Kamppi posters are quite cool too: "Since 2.3 everything in Helsinki feels so small."
