The unique circular shape of the building has presented a number of challenges. The building, being constructed at a cost of QR82 million, has required deep excavation in hard rock and dewatering and because of the congested nature of the 4,900 sq m site – with towers on both sides – a secant wall has required. The main contractor on the project is Gulf Housing and Construction, which is expected to complete it by July 2006.

The first couple of floors for this building are already up. This building and about a dozen other ones with similiar hights are coming up directly facing the city center.

You can contact the Qatar Financial Centre since this is QFC Tower now...

QFC doesn't lease space unless they are related to finanance in some way and adhere to QFC laws.

I've been told its full though and has been for quite a while.

@Dopey, you could consider either the Palm Tower or Tornado Tower.

Again, Mr. Moderator, e.g. Halawala, if this is QFC Tower, the heading is misleading...

Too much of work to be done here .... I've been away long time.. I think we need a warm-up... :-)

Qatar Financial Centre Authority Signs Lease for New Hheadquarters

Qatar Financial Centre Authority Web Site - October 27, 2005

The Qatar Financial Centre Authority (QFCA) has signed a lease to move into a new building that will provide its permanent home from the end of next year.

The lease for the entire 20 storey building has been signed with the Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) and will include the QFCA, the QFC Regulatory Authority and provide licensed institutions with a base from which to operate.

The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) has been established so that financial institutions and other associated businesses that move to Qatar can participate in the Country’s growth within an efficient and supportive business and regulatory framework.

The QFC has been created as an integral part of Qatar’s programme to attract major financial institutions and professional service groups that can help to develop business opportunities in the country. Qatar is asset rich and revenue rich and its strategy is to use the QFC to diversify the economy from a position of strength – including a $110 billion project finance programme over the next five years
