Dubai-Lover March 13th, 2005, 03:01 AM this one says 39 floors :dunno: $41 million Jazeera Tower in Doha - 1/19/2005 The Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has signed a $41 million (QR149mn) ‘Istissna’ deal with the contractor of the 39-storey Al Jazeera Tower at West Bay, which is being developed by Sheikh Jassim bin Nasser al-Thani, noted a Qatari businessman. On completion Al Jazeera Tower will have some 500 premier apartments, said QIB. Al Jazeera Tower has been slated for completion in August 2006 and will be constructed by Larsen & Toubro-Qatar. The deal was signed on behalf of QIB by its acting general manager Abdullatif al-Meer and Ahmad Mushari, executive manager (domestic investment) and for L&T Qatar by its chief manager Rajan Malhotra. Al-Meer said the signing of the Istissna contract was another proof of investors’ confidence in QIB’s ‘reliable and outstanding’ real estate financing. The Istissna contract being followed by QIB is one of the most successful financing modes applied by Islamic banks in the region, he said. The contract means QIB will be actively involved in the construction of the tower from the very first day till completion. ”We will do everything till the building has been handed over to the client,” a QIB source said. It was built as a hotel as you said.... but after the fire of Al Naser twin towers which destroyed both (one was for Qatargas and the other for Rasgas)... Qatargas rented Al-Jazeerah tower ....
