i applied for doha & manama editor as well and already have done some limited updates there.

to say it in nice words: these 2 sections are CRAP! no, seriously, they are close to death!

nothing has been done there for ages

this is why i ask all you guys for help, much help.



please go through manama and doha on emporis:

1) are there any towers which are already completed, don't exist or whatever.

2) please do also post RENDERS for those towers who don't have any on emporis!

3) tell me about towers which are completed and not listed on emporis, give me the details and the SOURCES!!!!! (without sources i can't do anything!!!!!!)

4) some towers don't have exact names like those west bay residential towers A+B

5) post all additions in this thread here as well!

Bahrain section needs a lot of work too. I'll help you out on this one starting tomorrow.

Ok, I've taken a look at the Bahrain section again and this is what needs to be done:

- The Diplomat Residential Tower isn't approved, it's way u/c, so that needs to be changed.

- The Bahrain International Insurance Center is u/c since Febuary. This is a pic for it:

- The Mercure Grand Hotel by Accor (17 stories) is completed.

I'll come back later, there are tons of towers missing, literally hundreds but these are low rises and I don't think we need em, they're hard to find anyways.

another thing

you locals should at least provide me one PRIVATE photo of each tower, which i can add to avoid confusions on my side!

also try to get contractors and as many details as possible with sources, otherwise we can forget about all of this!

Ok since it's late now I'll tell you about the towers above:

- The Bahrain International Insurance Center is part of BFH so the same ppl are involved there. It's u/c and it's 22 stories high. Started construction in Febuary this year and should finish in September 2006. Initial cost is $50 million.

- Well about the Mercure Grand Hotel, it's completed and has unofficially opened (soft opening). It's run by Accor the french hotel company. It's 17 stories and been u/c since 2 years (2003). That's all I know but it's completed.

Also DL, the financial towers need a pic along with the world trade center. You already have those from the forum.

DL am not in Bahrain at the moment (back in late July). There are manama pics on the net, but am not sure if you can use them?

on emporis we have 8 towers listed ranging from 16 to 30 floors, is this correct? somebody please check it

not easy to catch up with dubai, doha, manama, kuwait city, jeddah, riyadh,...

kuwait rocks for example, you must check this out, towers, towers, towers,....

Ya kuwait city will surprise you, you don't hear anythin but when you go there, there are some really nice buildings. When I was there, December 2002 :D so like 2 years n a half (just about), they had one of these buildings u/c (second from last to the bottom right). I think most of these should be up and running or proposed.

For Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, you won't here much but there is a lot more than you'll ever imagine that's goin on. I mean Bahrain for example has hundreds of buildings, but am not sure all are considered highrises. There is no way you can record all of that without doin months of research hehe.

^ It's not a skyscraper though, so it won't be there. I know it's a few stories high but emporis is for highrise buildings.

Guys if you count the completed buildings in Manama we will be in the ninety something in this list. In 2-3 years we may be in the 60-70 something range if you count the U/C projects, and in the 40-50 something if you count the planned. Of course this assumes the other cities will grow by only 5% yearly which is a fair assumption in my view.

Also I think Doha, Kuwait, Riyadh, and Jeddah will make the list.
