Malaysian PSCI unit gets $237 million Qatar projects - 11/12/2004


PSCI Industries Bhd’s unit has received a letter of intent from Qatar’s National Business Investment Company to construct two buildings in Doha valued at $237 million.

In a statement on Nov 10, it said that its unit, Penang Shipbuilding & Construction Sdn Bhd, had received the letter for the West Bay Lagoon Plaza project valued at $177 million. The project comprises two 34-storey apartments and a four-storey podium.
The second project is the Palm Tower project involving a 53-storey tower block valued at $60 million.
The completion period for both projects is 45 months.

Acctually you need to change the title, its the palms towers, yup! They are going to be twin towers instead of one. I was flipping through the newspaper and saw a rendering of two, not one, 50+ story glass towers called the palms. try to get some pics in here.

there are two palms im assuming. This is not the one we have in mind. The real palm is the 53 floor building that looks like a banana !!! This is another, new, palm tower.

The palm towers are in palm tree shape which their idea come form the tree that is a symbol for survival in the dead heat desert. Each tower consist of 57 story and their heights are 245 m.

But when I visited the Qatar real state exhibition ,there was a section for Dar Investment & Development, the developer of the Lagoon Plaza. in this section there were the Lagoon Plaza and the Palm towers. And these pictures are taken form a pamphlet of the Palm tower project…

I think that these are tow different projects, one is one tower, the other is 2 towers.

There is the palm towers and their is nakhel tower !! two different project... the nakhel has broken ground.. palm towers isnt 100% sure yet.. but most likely yes.. its still being designed....

وتبلغ تكلفة مشروع اللاجون بلازا نحو مليار ومائتي مليون ريال قطري، على 748 شقة سكنية خصصت جميعها للبيع «التملك» سواء للقطريين أو المقيمين في دولة قطر بالاضافة إلى المستثمرين من خارج الدولة.

guys when i was viewing the peninsula online i found a picture of today its titled changing skyline its small but if you look south the picture you can see palm towers correct place right next to it but covered by qatar tower whe fully completed.

i dont think so Susan........it doesn’t have this round design of Aspire and QIPCO tower……..i highly doubt that…………I have a feeling that those twin tower would take ages to come up as it took ages to start working on them……..i hope not though, I am really hoping some fast construction on these two………….hopefully

I dont think there even is an underground parking! lol. But there is the parking dedicated to Al Bidda Tower standing right next... right in between one of the Palm Towers and Al Bidda, could be a joint parking.
