Ive met there on a few occassions and the beer isn't too pricey, it's friendly and has kept most of it's small town charm, if you get attacked by a bald bloke on medication who says he's a gay postman don't blame me though ok. Only jestin, it's a nice boozer.

I've only ever seen it packed once when Milwall played Blues and it seemed to be a HQ for Brum, they were hanging from the rafters, my cousin knew a few of them and aparently a guy called Tiny (which he isn't) was there, other than that it's quiet another cool one is bar red top of temple street, no dress code, table service by nice ladies, not too pricey and cosy atmosphere.

It depends on whether I am in Brum, trouble is everytine I'm around the city I'm with my bro or other friends who get pissed off with me talking about fucking skyscrapers and so I don't think they would entertain the idea, my bro would be cool with us poppin in for a beer I guess, maybe? don't count me in but I would like to meet up one time, preferably when A.C. gets the go ahead, I don't fancy talking about Blunthers piles in the mean time!

Im not sure but maybe a beer garden at craven arms, don't count on it though, actually now i come to think of it there aren't many beer gardens in town pubs the council don't like it, ipenema is good for sitting outside though, good view of broad street, you have to be careful going out in large gropus of men though, soem places don't like it.

If you're in town EK just pop down for one.....Blunther promises not to get his pile cream out.

I will try to make it down, quite like the idea of the Craven arms, we used to go there for a tot b4 the Blues matches, loveley old boozer. :)

am developing a site over my summer break, regarding Birmingham regenration/development projects, tall and short, covering all commercial sectors and concentrating on the aea bounded by the inner ring road (middle as was)

if anyone has any renderings they have found stored on the pc's, if they would be kind enough to email them, as pictures would look great, (i could just spend hours going through the posts, I know, but thought would ask for help)

Just off to Blackpool for a lads' piss up, and staying in a b and b. All the girls we know are off on a girly camping trip, so we had to do summat.

We're probably one down though./ A chap I ain't seen for ages works in the Bristol Pear in Selly Oak, and he got glassed across the face by some scally last week. He's gotta have plastuc surgery and everything :(

Sorry to hear about your friend Blunther.Seville's terrible at the moment....it's been the driest year since the early fifties.If I remember correctly, it has rained three times since last October.Normally it's a case of hanging around the house until nightfall then spending the night until five or six in the morning in the bars down by the river;the coolest(weather wise)place in the city.Down on the coast(an hour from here)there's always a breeze but nothing stirs in Seville.Temperatures having been hitting 43/44 but those official statistics are taken from the airport some kms from here....the city is hotter.

Just a word of warning, Craigie_Mann: the area directly between the hotel and the city centre is quite run down. Although the area at the top of the hill (where the hotel is) has been regenerated, the roads that lead down to the Bullring are bordered mainly by factories and warehouses. This means it gets very quiet at times - that's not to say it's a dangerous place to walk through, just a little eerie.
I'd suggest following the Digbeth high street (High Street Deritend (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=407750.323578142&Y=286250.951910256&width=700&height=400&gride=407811.323578142&gridn=286350.951910256&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=GB&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&zm=1&scale=10000)), which is more lively because it's home to several pubs, so would probably be your choice of route anyway.

Stayed there in 1998 for the Lions International Convention, when then it was the Chamberlain Hotel. The hotel had been taken over by the Japanese Lions groups. There were so many visiting Lions delegates from all over the world that weekend in August '98, that the march-past from five ways to the city took over five hours. The room I had was a single, very clean and tiny, though quite small. Enjoy your stay.
