Holy Crap! My faith in Canadian cities is restored!

Vancouver was brilliant, this being just (sadly) my first stay. Firstly, the weather, trees and plants/ 'lushness', architecture, and the urban planning was amazing! Go mixed zoning!

The people were not as friendly as in Toronto (I suppose Vancouverites are very friendly withing their own population, though) and there appears to be some issues with pot (people walked by me in the downtown and I could smell pot on them) but again, this is such a cliche with Vancouver I am sure you are all sick of hearing about it ;)

Great city... Wow! Yaletown was better than Yorkville by 100x (remember this is all in MY opinion to tell you about my trip- not to start arguments) and again, I loved the condo towers and the cute little condos at their bases. Downtown was where I spent most of my time, and you could find everything easily.

Go Vancouver! The city felt almost as large as Toronto to me, (not a bad thing at all) but I would hope that there isn't LOTS of tall towers coming, because the city is fine the way it currently is. Very good towers.

Thanks Vancouver!

ps. one last thing: i could never find pictures taken inside downtown Vancouver, or of the suburbs around it... so I will post a bunch of GREAT shots I got while I was there! thanks!

I'm glad that you like Vancouver. Now, just wait for Torontonians to attack you back as a traitor, lol...

Why would Torontonians do that? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and Vancouver is a great city.

Looking forward to your photos.

Guys, can we not get along? WE have a great country and Vancouver and Toronto are both uncomparably great cities.

And yes, the pictures are on their way... you will like them!

Theres taller towers on the way though...

Towers don't make the city, Vancouver's best quality is it's individualism and adding taller towers that are not in keeping with the cities current buildings would squash its uniqueness.

Remember, you can have a starbucks anywhere but only special places have independant coffee houses.

As long as Vancouver stays unique, it stays special.

There are also privately owned coffee houses too.

You guys in Vancouver should do lobby your city councillor about restricting the growth of Starbucks/large chains like I have. My city councillor really despises hearing from .
