Holy Crap! My faith in Canadian cities is restored!
Vancouver was brilliant, this being just (sadly) my first stay. Firstly, the weather, trees and plants/ 'lushness', architecture, and the urban planning was amazing! Go mixed zoning!
The people were not as friendly as in Toronto (I suppose Vancouverites are very friendly withing their own population, though) and there appears to be some issues with pot (people walked by me in the downtown and I could smell pot on them) but again, this is such a cliche with Vancouver I am sure you are all sick of hearing about it ;)
Great city... Wow! Yaletown was better than Yorkville by 100x (remember this is all in MY opinion to tell you about my trip- not to start arguments) and again, I loved the condo towers and the cute little condos at their bases. Downtown was where I spent most of my time, and you could find everything easily.
Go Vancouver! The city felt almost as large as Toronto to me, (not a bad thing at all) but I would hope that there isn't LOTS of tall towers coming, because the city is fine the way it currently is. Very good towers.
Thanks Vancouver!
ps. one last thing: i could never find pictures taken inside downtown Vancouver, or of the suburbs around it... so I will post a bunch of GREAT shots I got while I was there! thanks!
