Beautiful city, the buildings seem to focus near the lake, or the harbourside just like sydney. Overall, a nice city but, less buildings as compared to sydney. I give 9/10

Personally I love Brisbane. So much glass.

My favourite buildings are the treasury casino and the ATO Tower(Just on the East side of ANZAC square.

On of the things that I like about Brisbane is that there are so many parks in the CBD. The thing that I don't like is that once you go outside the CBD and a couple of suburbs surrounding it, it's boring.

I never really liked Melbourne but these pics look great especially in the first image, a city beside a body of water. ------------------------------8

Wow very impressive!! I'm surprised to discover that Brisbane looks like this!! I always thought that it's skyline was smaller then Melbourne's and it reminds me of Chicago. This skyline is also the best planned I have ever seen and most of it's skyscrapers I think are so lovely. 10/10

Well, it IS smaller than melbournes, dont be mistaken about that. It goes Sydney --> Melbourne --> Brisbane.

But yea, ppl are often suprised by its size.. cuz most ppl just imagine it having a small one.

And its currently getting 3 200m + towers (maybe a fourfth)

2 ones at 200m and i at 246m (maybe 250m to spire)... and also a 165m and a 153m along with tens of others above 100m

Most of these pics are old and do not show what the skyline is like today. Pop back in say 2 years (and even 4) and you will notice a massive difference.

I love Brissy for it's density. The scrapers on along the river look fantastic. I can't wait to see the skyline once Riparian, Aurora & Vision are completed. Will be packing some serious height for an Aussie city in a few years. :)

nerazzurri - Brisbane came very close to having a very huge building. In 1989 the 445m/107 floor Brisbane Central actually began construction but was scrapped. If built it would have been one of the tallest buildings in the world.

I think it looks very good for its population - some of the shots show a great looking city. With more height and some additional density it will look even better. It has some nice reflective towers with a reasonable height, combine with with the nice setting and it goes to produce a city worth more than a 3.

The one of the city covered in mist looks incredible and reminds me of Shenzhen for some reason.

A beautiful city and a skyline. I live in Baltimore, MD. I saw the skyline ranking in this thread. It is very wierd that Sydney or any major Auatralian cities is ranked below Baltimore. Baltimore has something nice to offer. People in Baltimore are laid back and not uptight. But the skyline ranking of Baltimore shouldn't be above that of Sydney.

I would like to hear the opinions of people who rated the skylines of New York, Hong Kong, Chicago, or Tokyo less than three. I think that the skyline ratings of Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane have to be at least more than 6 regardless of the difference of taste or rating systems of each voter. But there are many people who rated the skylines of these cities less than 3.5. As far as judged by pictures, four big cities and three Ausie cities that I mentioned above has many buildings of superior quality. I imagine its just people who want their own city further up, so yeah.

If any change is going to be made to this system youd need to Make sure anyone who voted left a comment, and u could see what they voted and their reasons why. And somehow make sure people didnt register new accounts just to vote.

lol, this skyline is absolutley beautiful, what the hell is it doing at 200, it should be in the top 50 for sure maybe top 30?, anyways i give it an 8.7, setting is great, got the mountains, archeitecture is stunning and modern, dense, the boats make for awesome photos great skyline overall, way better than montreal and thats like 20 or something dunno, wow below a 3 eh? u must have suffered brain damage, and some how created an account here and entered that post in some sparatic twitch mashing ur keyboard....

I would like to hear the opinions of people who rated the skylines of New York, Hong Kong, Chicago, or Tokyo less than three. I think that the skyline ratings of Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane have to be at least more than 6 regardless of the difference of taste or rating systems of each voter. But there are many people who rated the skylines of these cities less than 3.5. As far as judged by pictures, four big cities and three Ausie cities that I mentioned above has many buildings of superior quality. Brisbane used to be at 20.. Sydney at like 2 or 3? and Melb was what? 8-10? perth was 25-30 and adelaide wasnt too far behind.

Its stupid what happened but now no-one takes these things seriously at all

Hong Kong, NYC and chicago were always top three, but Melbourne and Sydney were at about 6th or 7th. then one fine day they all just vanished to about 250th.

Very nice skyline with a good amount of density. Looks great from any angle, so I give it an 8.5/10. :okay:

Though not my favorite Aussie skyline, Brisbane still is a beautiful city and works well with the riverfront. I give this a 7. I love the fourth pic.

^After looking more closely at some of the other pics I'm upgrading my rating to an 8.5. Brisbane is indeed a beautiful city and like the other Oz cities deserves to be higher ranked than it is. SSC is unfortunately full of politics, but who hates Oz cities so much that they'd rate them so low? I don't think that Americans would as I don't see how they'd feel threatened by Oz. Could it be people from NZ or England? Just wondering.

well I love Bris Vegas. The CBD is getting better every year, growing upwards and wrapped in that big fat lazy river but the Council needs to stand firm on the quality of the architecture - too many high rise residential with too much drab painted concrete, boring stairwells and stacks of little dunny windows.

^^Been through it today, as well as that aerial photo website.....excellent!

I'm not going to be biased just because I'm a brissie chick, I'll try my best to be honest though. The variety of buildings in size and shape make Brisbane city look a bit clustered, but depending on the angle you look at it, the larger buildings overshadow the smaller ones and the layout look fantastic. Especially if you're looking towards the Story Bridge as well. Plus, the larger buildings were built architecurally well.Therefore, I'd have to give Brisbane a 9/10!

WOW I GIVE 10 OF 10

I spent 3 nights in Brisbane last summer when I travelled the East coast..

Unfortunately I didn't get any decent pics! doh!! cos we stayed close to the transit centre, (not the most interesting of places) and we only trotted to the storey bridge at night, and my camera can't do darkness, lol..

So I never saw the skyline in its full beauty, still there were some nice towers.. the photos do it justice on here compared to what I saw just because of the location I was in. I saw it when we flew out of Aus to Hong Kong as we flew from Cairns to Brisbane and I saw the skyline from the runway and it looked really imposing and dominate
