View Full Version : Kvartalas project in Vilnius
Geex March 24th, 2005, 12:46 PM At last we already know everything about new Kvartalas project in NCC.
So first of all render (this render is vision and don't show how buildings will look in reality):

I think you saw this project before, but now we got more details on this project, so here we go:
1) 31 floors highrise building (mixed use Com/Res).
2) 12 floors commercial building.
3) New and biggest in Baltic states conference center (Bendruomeniu rumai) + night clubs/entertainment.
4) Reconstructed student dominatory + parks and recreation zone.
5) Collegium in one part of buildng + fast food restorants/entertainment area for students and office workers + green zone.
6) Old LG commie will be renovated.
Project will be completed at the very end of 2007.
Investitions:
Middle Europe Investment - 500 mln. Litas
+ Vyrokas and Vilnius city municipality will fund this project too.
ch1le March 24th, 2005, 12:54 PM holy cow... this is one hell of a project cant wait to see more details
liutass March 24th, 2005, 01:00 PM everything looks fine (at least the idea) except the Vyrokas pisuar (reality)
Geex March 24th, 2005, 01:08 PM ^^^ Everything seem's to be OK, in newspaper they write that Vyrokas already started to rent office space in new 31 floor highrise building.
Now the only thing we need to see is some real (not vision) renders.
And BTW i forgot to write that there will be huge underground parking system for all this complex ;) And projects 1, 4, 5, 6 is marked as first stage of this project, so we should see some works quite soon. I think they could start in summer when old collegium will be closed for summer vacation's ;)
Anyway whole project will be completed in the very end of 2007, so almost two years from now.
sander March 24th, 2005, 01:35 PM Wow, great project. I thought that Vilnius has calmed down. 31-storey high-
rise building looks interesting because of that "pipe" in the middle of building.
John March 24th, 2005, 01:42 PM Thanks for info Geex :okay:
Though I'm wondering how they're going to build everything in just 1 and half year from now (considering Vyrokas is building its highrise for almost 2 years already)? :?

Well they said that they were lack of investition, but now they signed deal with MEI and everything should go much faster.. ;)
PS: šiandien į miestai.net įdėsiu daugiau info ir ištraukų iš straipsnio. ;)
ch1le March 24th, 2005, 01:54 PM the end of 2007 means roughly 3 years, not 1,5 :)

That's true too ;) I somehow managed to count 2 years.. i thought we are living in 2006 already :D

Oh sorry, then it's 2 and a half years :|. It seems I'm already in 2006
Edit: @Geex LOL, we're both in 2006. It seems Vilnius is at least 1 year ahead of the rest

This really show's how fast Vilnius is developing :D
jimm March 24th, 2005, 02:14 PM Great news. It seems that the old colegium building will be demolished.

:sly: sometimes i get carried away too, i still count the age of a car til 2000... so if something was released in 1995 it is 5 years old for me.. dang, but its already 2005! WOohoo!
BoyXm March 24th, 2005, 05:43 PM Great news. It seems that the old colegium building will be demolished.
that's should be done because of present situation of this building. I hope it will be demolished
By the way, it's wonderful news about these projects. It seems that our not beloved Vyrokas will make something positiv to the future of NCC ;)
Ofcourse, sad that this 31 floorer will not be 50 floorer, as it was planed before, but anyway - it's better than nothing. :)
Mantas March 24th, 2005, 07:34 PM Great news. Is it already called a "boom"? :?
Edd March 24th, 2005, 07:50 PM :sly: sometimes i get carried away too, i still count the age of a car til 2000... so if something was released in 1995 it is 5 years old for me.. dang, but its already 2005! WOohoo! No wonder - you are Estonian. :D
Today when I was driving a car in Vilnius this is what happened: I was on the second line and suddently in front of me slowly one car from first line went to the second - the driver of that car did not switch on left "turning indicator" (I don't know how it's called in English ;)) to show that he was going to do so. I had to slow down in order to avoid hitting that car. Only after that, the same car switched on left "turning indicator" and only after a very long time the left "turning indicator" was switched off. I looked at license plate and I saw that they were Estonian. It isn't funny when you read it but in reality that situation was quite funny and after I looked at license plate I was laughing quite a lot. ;)
Gatis March 24th, 2005, 07:57 PM There were planned 50 floors??? OMG!
Beautiful plans!!! Impatiently waiting what MEI will propose for Riga (where they promise to invest even more... but a bit later than in Vilnius).
Of course, building No.1. is the most interesting for me ;) Would be funny if they really make it with that narrow middle part.
Edd March 24th, 2005, 07:58 PM Great news. Is it already called a "boom"? :?
If constructions of Europa complex and municipality building were called "boom" then this project alone should be called a "boom". Not to mention such planned and U/C projects as Hansabankas and Registru centras and Vilniaus vartai and Helios and SBA and "Panorama" and..... ;)
ch1le March 24th, 2005, 07:59 PM /\ If vilnius deserves beeing called a boom then certainly Tallinn does too!!!! :)
Edd March 24th, 2005, 08:07 PM /\ If vilnius deserves beeing called a boom then certainly Tallinn does too!!!! :)Yes, all capitals in the Baltic states and bigger cities (Klaipeda and Kaunas) are having or just starting the "booms". ;)
Mantas March 24th, 2005, 08:10 PM @Gatis Yes, it was before they limited the height
@Edd The answer was unneeded, It was a rethorical question ;)
@ch1le Oh yes, at last Tallinn received its boom in residentials :D ;)
redmoon March 26th, 2005, 06:02 PM WOOOW :eek2: Vilnius is becoming a real metropolis
ch1le March 26th, 2005, 06:16 PM @Gatis Yes, it was before they limited the height
