Øye Stavechurch

Øye Stavkirke was built in 1150 back then closer to the river in the valley. Due to flood they moved the church to its current location. However in
1747 they torn down this stavechurch and built a new modern church on the site. This church was forgotten until reconstruction started on the
new church in 1935. Hidden under the church they found the old stavchurch well preserved. The stavechurch was rebuiltin 1956, and is one of
the smallest, but one of the older stave churches in the world.
