and believe or not, S.E Queensland also has it's own display. I loved the moving scarecrow

R.M Williams Stockmen - These were the same guys who kicked off the Olympics opening ceremony. They didn't let anyone down as always. Their formations are great.

Holden Stormriders

The best part of the night is always the fireworks - They even have a music soundtrack to go with it

Showbag pavillion - someone told me that they discount bags late in the evening to get rid of the days stock. It was too late as I dashed for the pavillion hours before

I hate that advertising banner in the first pic. Makes me to set it up in fire.

I prefer they bring back the theme of "The Great Australian Muster" to reflect what the show is about - showcasing life in rural NSW and Australia. I found it's also been good method of promoting the event to a foreign market which the RAS has focused on recent years.

This current "You never see anything like it" promotes it simply as a carnival and it doesn't really tie into the rural theme of the show.

I said this last year, I agree with your point. I noticed this year that the atmosphere was worse than ever. Also they have scaled back on alot of things since moving out west like exhbitions (such as government exhbitions) and I noticed that over the past year in particular they have been scaled back further. Any exhbitions these days are all corporate and businesses see it as an event to promote their products. The Easter show isn't a place for them. There was nothing in the superdome either this year. Other than entertainment (which was very good) there was really little to see and do.

Maybe if they stayed at Moore Park, alot of the things the show used to have would still be there.

Man it was like a future in which the corporations run everything. Visit the Coca Cola Pavillion then purchase a BHP Billiton Burger and follow up your nutritious meal with a visit to the General Motors john. And the regional exhibition was done up like the Woolworths fruit section - complete with 'Fresh Food People' banners. The tack was overwhelming.

I'm hiding from my housemate right now because she wants me to invest in the alpaca industry.
