I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.. I still can't figure out from that
rendering if he intends it to stretch out over Front St? Looks like the traffic
is going under the boot part in one rendering.

Sorry bout that! I was referring the the article posted at the end of the last page:
"Council approves tower at base of Hummingbird"... unless maybe there is another
new project going up shaped like a boot! ;)
Anyhow, I was referring to the more explicit renderings that someone had scanned
from the Star... it looked like the boot part of the building was built over Front St,
with traffic going under. Maybe I am misinterpreting the orientation of the rendering.

There are too many too count, but I think it's time we make a second part to this forum, starting fresh with Travis007's compilation of renderings, i've always liked the name of "Toronto Boom rundown", I think the mods would really apreciate it.

To be honest, I would love if each major project had its own thread (recording the progress, news) - just like it is done on most other forums. What do you say?

I really like your first picture, Skybean!

An unusual angle which shows the amount of highrises from the railways to the waterfront.

I think it's a good idea that we should start a new thread, but I didn't start this thread thinking that it would turn into a great success. I think that since this thread has gone over 500 Posts, this is Archive worthy. But this time, I think the new thread should be better organized.

I think that each major NEW project should have its own thread, just like my Libeskind Hummingbird Tower Thread. But the minor developments should be kept in this thread.

We already have individual project threads in the Toronto section though. It's kind of nice having a summary thread in the International sections. Most people outside of a home city don't care to much for the everyday news on a particular project but the grand picture. This thread provided that.
Just my opinion though :)

That's a great pic; it gives the sense of how immense the CN Tower really is.

I completely agree. Don't shut this thread down. It has the most views, that's pretty incredible. And it is less work for non-locals to quickly access a summary.

KEEP IT!

Residences of College Park... phase 3. There's a huge piece of land earmarked for this. 600, 700 or 800ft. (perhaps even taller). This will probably be the next big thing.

There's also discussion on UrbanToronto of a huge new tower for Manulife Financial...but it's only speculation. (can you imagine a 1000ft tall Manulife Centre? LOL.)
