Finally found a rendering. Didn't see that this had been posted anywhere else, so, thought I'd start a thread for it.

That looks great. Where is it going to be located?

On Pearson between State and Wabash.

Not a bad looking buidling at all. I really like the color it gives it that colligate look. This site is currently a surface lot correct? And when is the expect ground breaking and occupancy dates if anyone knows?

I honestly don't remember what was at the site before... but, ground has already been broken (I think about 2 months ago). Occupancy should be within the next 24 months or so?

Unimaginative but very decent.

They're had a few issues with this project. There is an old water tunnel that runs under the site, and they had problems getting around it. One of the caisson holes flooded sometime last month. I heard that they forgot to put in a couple of caissons for the building that the tower crane was supposed to rest on.

There have been some problems.

In this day and age... it never ceases to amaze what a little human stupidity can do to a relatively simple project like this one :)

i don't know.... i mean its a decent building. but for a university especially a chicago one why not go little out there design wise and being able to get away with it i think.

i think they missed the boat on this one though they have a solid chance to building something of architectural significance but didn't.

Work is progressing on the site, albeit still quite slowly.

Site overview.

How is it possible that it's been this long since someone's posted a photo of this building's progress!?

I wish I had the time :) I didn't do anything special anyway, just a trip to the top of the Hancock that anyone could handle :)

Last update probably for this thread. The final product. Not too bad - the glass is horribly cheap though and definately shows tons of oil-canning.

I hope that Loyola eventually redevelops its law school building at State and Pearson. I never liked that squat, bland building...box-like with blank walls of brick.

Perhaps one day they will replace it with a beautiful high-rise. One can hope.

perhaps, but from that pic, geoff, the effect looks pretty damn cool. the visual chaos the glass creates is quite interesting. it may not be clean and tidy, but messy isn't always bad.

Man I have to go down Pearson and check out this development and the Old People 's hom,e as well.....I haven't been down to my alma mater's DT campus in quite awhile.....I wish this stuff was happening when I was there quite a while ago.

By the way how is the Old Person's home doing ( I am blanking on the name right now??)

They moved the law school to 25 E. Pearson, and 1 E. Pearson is now the Business School.
