No, not THAT sort of high... ;)

What I mean is, what's the highest level that you have ...

1) Lived on
2) Worked in
3) Visited ??

This thread was originally started in Euroscrapers btw. For me ....

1) Lived on = only the 4th floor, but I have a great view of the Natural History Museum from up here.

2) Worked in = only the 4th floor, but it was quite a prominent location - the building was next door to Tower 42.

3) Visited = About 300m (top of the Eiffel Tower).
In London I went to the 13th floor of Plantation Place last year, which had amazing panoramic views from the roof terrace. I've also been to the 8th floor of the Cascades Tower in the Docklands.

So, what about everyone else?

Lived: 3rd floor in my uni house, two years ago
Worked: 4th floor
Highest I've been: Either the Macau Tower or the Sydney Tower last autumn

Highest place in London i've been is probably the top balcony of the new GLA building; i have some uni work to do and went to see some people in the council there and they took my out onto the balcony - the view was awesome. Incidently the building is also very cool inside, i can imagine it being similar to that of Swiss RE.

Yet to go on the wheel!

I don't think I've ever been up a skyscraper before. The highest I suppose in a building is 101m, on the roof of Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral. And that was only 2 weeks ago!

The highest I've ever been in my life is 37'000 feet on my way to Majorca in 1997.

Another one I didn't mention is the London College of Printing which I went to last year in Elephant & Castle. It's about 50m tall and the upper floors have a view that stretches from Westminster, all the way round to the City and CW.

Btw, the observation deck on LBT will be 735ft up.

Heron and Minerva will have restaurants open to the public on their top floors.

1. Lived on the 3rd floor of a 15 floor tower in Osaka

2. Worked on the 16th floor of the Kintetsu Shin Namba building in Osaka

3. Visited and been up the CN Tower, Taipei 101, Petronas Towers, Landmark Tower, Umeda Sky Building and numorous other buildings in Umeda, Sunshine 60, JR Nagoya twin towers, Dentsu Building, Tokyo Government Buildings, Sears Tower, Menara Malaysia (4th tallest telecom tower in the world).

I have also been up to 5250 metres in Peru. The highest altitude I've slept at is 4100 metres, on the shore of Lake Titicaca in Peru. The highest mountain that i've climbed is Mount Fuji which has an absolutely breathtaking view - better than any skyscraper that i've been up as you can see Tokyo and Yokohama beneath you, lights crackling in the distance. Magic.

After working on the 16th floor of a skyscraper I can say that its just simply awesome working at such a height. From my office where I taught I could see the sunset every night over Osaka bay.. 3km north to Umeda (Japan's 2nd business district), the longest suspension bridge in the world (Akashi-Kaikyo), Kobe and the Namba district with neon blazing a few hundred metres away.

Working in a skyscraper is highly recommended! (no pun intended!) I will be only really applying for jobs with companies in London who have offices in skyscrapers. Can anyone come up with a list?

All of these posts seem to be from me but they're not. It shows how old this thread is - before the great hack of July 2005 when thousands of Fox's and other forumers posts became "Monkey's". This is Fox's thread perhaps? :dunno:
