Or did he just go lunatic on us? Surely just see to find out if the IPs on his recent post are his or not.

That's what I thought.

No, that's not it, 3tmk. I've stumbled across several quite idiotic posts & threads by GYRO of late (e.g., jmancuso vs. Jasonhouse or sth), and it seems he has been banned.

I hope this will be cleared up because if he didn't make those posts/open thread(s), he should be in the clear. :)

I've seen an incident of a hacked account here before. In that case, the hacker chose to disguise himself as a Russian forumer. That backfired big time, though, because the hacker used English in a manner the revered Russian forumer :master: simply doesn't have at his command. :D Case was closed. :okay:

well it's always a problem if someone gets your account, it's hard to explain yourself afterwards.
however, a person can always 'hack' himself and then say it wasn't him...
something like burning your house for insurance, lol

I disagree. If the user's IP is that of a home internet connection. And it's the same as it was pre-hack and during the hack, then it's the same person.

If the IP is that of a proxy pre-hack, but a different proxy/or home IP after the hack, then it's inconclusive.

If the IP is a home IP pre-hack, then a different proxy IP during the hack: then it's probably indeed a hacker.

Most people aren't smart enough to mask their IPs if they ever wanted to hack themselfs, and blame it on a hacker. Cause that would be just dumb. Plus common sense tells me Gyro would not do such a thing, but I have not known him that long.

Regardless, I think he should be given a second chance unless it was the same IP both pre-hack, and during the hack.

it is possible. though in the age of the internet today - many people have become familiar with sites that can mask your IP for 'safe' viewing.

Exactly. Then it would be inconclusive since it would be a proxy server.

But if it's a home IP say comcast.miami.com or some silly host name like that... both before the hack and after the hack... then it's most likly the same person. You can't dublicate an IP (as far as I know.)
