THE VISION
At the gateway between London and the Thames Valley, Slough is well placed to become a leading European and national focus for Information Communication Technology and creative industries.
The vision for the Heart of Slough initiative is to create a leading cultural quarter for creative media information and communications industries in Europe through a complex of world-class multi-functional buildings and open spaces, incorporating innovative use design and public art.
The Heart of Slough will represent truly sustainable regeneration, bringing major economic, social and environmental benefits to the town and the Thames Valley. It will create a sustainable quarter for the town with the exceptional environment and range of facilities. It will be a focus for a business and community activity, a place to live, work and play.
The ethos of the Heart of Slough initiative is to build a lively, creative, culturally diverse business and cultural environment. It will offer opportunity and inspiration to local people, and those from further afield across all ethnic and cultural groups. The Heart of Slough will be a world-class creative and cultural quarter which will transform the roles and image of Slough and give local people just cause to be proud of their town.
